A small cap SaaS company attempting to grow in the USA has to establish credibility & product market fit before they can win substantial business. Do you think that happens instantly?

The 6.5 year Amtrak deal which started in March 2023 is critical as a beachhead and the 18 month implementation period suggests that there was a lot of work required to get everything set up. That type of cornerstone contract is critical because it allows a company to expand their in country headcount, open an office, etc.

G&W who signed up in July will have almost certainly spoken to Amtrak for feedback, and the fact Amtrak themselves expanded their contract in August speaks volumes. They are clearly happy with the results.

So to me, the US story only began in March 2023, as before that they had negligible revenue. It has gained significant momentum in 2024 with the new customer + existing customer expansion. Now they are embedded in the US network, I'd be very surprised if they don't win further deals.

The new Positive Train Control module seems very logical & could generate material ROI. I can't see how it won't help with winning new business.

But sure, if you want to drive whilst looking in the rear view mirror then go for it, personally I prefer to look at what's in the road ahead...

74tom, for over 4 years they’ve been hyping up the US but have only managed to add two customers. Why is that?

I agree the options have been issued at a fair and reasonable price unlike most AIM companies, as you say. That is a very positive move, and I sincerely hope that they are able to reward themselves extremely well from this award.

Get the money into rail projects it mentions, we are surely going
to get noticed soon.

If anyone moves any on it does not have to be to retail investors.

Lets hope the momentum continues through 8p tomorrow with the media
hopefully writing the story for their clients. Then more news to take us towards
10p, before a US contract win to send us through 10p and beyond.
Lets hope the pegs fall into place and we have a strong share price move
into the Winter season.

Did Rathbones ever really intending to buy 15 million shares, by arrangement they paid above market price, but was it a ploy to encourage the retail market to buy into the story.

Shares remained on offer under 6p for a while before the RNS that sent them up to 8p.
Have they been the large seller on the way up to 8p and again today?

It will only become clear if they or another holder issue a RNS about a reduction of stake, if at all, as I may have read it incorrectly.

Anyway give it time and it will come good one way or another impo.

DYOR.

Ah, there you are. The 'ambivalent amateur' returns.

Pray tell why Rathbones would buy 15m shares at 24% above the market price if that was the case? Your logic makes as much sense as a chocolate teapot.

Premium placings at this end of the AIM market are extremely rare & tell you that an institution actively wanted to get involved in the investment case here.

On the subject of the USA, just 3 months ago they said;

"We are delighted that our business relationship with Amtrak continues to grow, building on the foundations of our delivery strength and advanced technology. We continue to invest in our USA team, adding sales and engineering resources for our most important growth market, where we are confident in becoming the clear market leader for automated inspections"

And that was less than a month after winning the G&W contract...

Oh and the Amtrak contract is for 6.5 years, the high gross margin SaaS phase only started a couple of months ago.

Ps. Trolling on the day they announced 2 new contract wins is a waste of an amateurs time :)

I’ll take notice when they announce another Class 1 US Railroad contract, which has been a carrot dangled in front of investors for too long now. It would disprove my theory that the latest fund raise for developing a new module for the US is a smokescreen to draw attention from the slower than expected progress in the market they said was crucial for driving growth. I’d be happier with jam tomorrow development work if they could get some traction in the US with the products they have. The Amtrak contract was a good gain but it hasn’t been enough to earn a profit.

Suspect order book value the last two weeks, Amtrack , England and Australia would make a case for upgrade of numbers and TP.

LOL I see I am being misunderstood, I have said for a long period of time that I considered the company to hold long term value for those that want to tie up funds and just wait it out and.

The southeastern deal is particularly interesting, Cordel have built a very decent moat via their Network Rail certifications & integration. A real niche which could happily support a significantly larger market cap in due course...

When I saw this announcement, I thought two things. One, this is good news. Two, clocktower will post that they haven’t put a value on the contract. It’s becoming a bit predictable now as you try to justify getting this one wrong.
