Perhaps Mark should be jailed for failing to sell Condor to Calibre ? 😂

They need to get Mark Child to talk to the authorities, he's repeatedly told us that Condor has bought all the land. It must be a misunderstanding.

We should con them into accidentally misgendering someone - and they'll be in clink faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

Oh. Wait. Apologies. It's Nicaragua. They don't do woke. As you were....

Tomorrow, we should know if someone has been in prison since last night, Nicaraguan time.

Why send them to jail if you can do a compulsory purchase? I don't believe either will happen until the Chinese have taken over.

Hmmm. Good point. There is no one person, or body, who would be trusted by all parties (especially the 'golds gone' sceptics).

Perhaps better to assume they have none then things, if different, can only be better than that.

On a different note, I wonder what happened to all the Iraqi gold that was plundered by the Americans?

meanreverter - don't worry, we're just killing time while we twiddle our thumbs. No need to get all excited about the off topic chat 🤣

Define “independent” in this context.

I'm sure someone said that it is many years since the gold holdings at Fort Knox were independently audited. Just sayin' 🤔

The United States does not have the power to “let” the price of gold do anything. Rather, to move the price, it would have to take action — buying or selling gold — in the market. Something extraordinary would need to happen to move the US government's stance of freezing its gold assets, which have been static for over 40 years. Selling some of its gold would initially depress the gold price. However, it would also broadcast a powerful message to the market that the US government no longer cares about supporting its currency. With the resulting collapse of the dollar, the end effect on the gold price in dollars would likely be positive.

For anyone interested, here is the full article. Off topic, but as there is zero CNR news we have to amuse ourselves somehow 🤣

For those who haven't seen it, it might be a good idea to get a copy of the film 'V for Vendetta'. Just sayin'....

Nonsense.
There will not be any new gold standard in our lifetimes. “The elites” (assuming something like that exists, maybe “elites” should be more understood as someone who is not acting completely stupid) owns SP500 shares and real estate.

So expect these to to survive.

BRICS countries strongly betting on gold makes it even more likely that the US will let POG drop like a hot potato

From an article about a possible financial implosion, and way for the elites to handle that, before the November US election given that US government debt is now out of control....

《《 298;《《 One method would be the revaluing of gold. It would wipe everyone out, except the elites who hold gold and who will be the only ones able to buy anything once this happens. Today gold is hovering around $2,400 an ounce – imagine if it goes to $40,000 or even $127,000 an ounce by revaluation. In such a scenario, the US dollar would collapse so completely that the whole structure would cave in. But government debt will be gone, paid off by the gold reserves. The elites who hold gold will not care. The American people, unless they hold gold, will be stricken: loans, jobs, investments, cars, food, all become impossible 》》 299;》

Grim scenario. I assume any countries with gold fields would commandeer them so holders of shares in gold miners would have nothing.

The Chinese and other governments have been buying gold like its going out of fashion of course while the mug punters sell gold to buy Bitcoin 🙄. Bitcoin will be worth zero eventually of course just like tulip mania all over again.

Merry Christmas 😂

Kopi Luwak is made from coffee beans that are excreted whole by an animal called a Civet Cat.

In La India they have a similar thing but it is passed through Mark Child rather than a cat.

I've been drinking Nicaraguan coffee. It's not bad, so I guess there's something in Nicaragua that Mark Child hasn't shat all over. Perhaps the coffee plantations are guarded by anti-toboggan fences.

Could also be 2025 or 2026 - nobody really knows. All we know is that Jim’s Nicaraguan cousins will all draw at least one more salary payment. Or 13, or 25.
With this terrible disappointment it would in theory be time to end the show, but wait, there is a new cohort of senile master investors believing in imminent arrival of doomsday and a new gold standard. Let’s incorporate their hard earned pensions into Jim’s billionaire portfolio. All while Jim being cheered at, as these guys are suffering the Stockholm syndrome.
