15/5/2024 19:42 | Nearly 40% of dirty money is laundered in London and UK crown dependencies | book5
15/5/2024 19:26 | Calibre appears to be marching toward $2.6, which is an excellent prospect. But, will the government allow CNR to be sold to calibre? And what conditions will CNR be required to buy the rest of the land? The government has always favoured artisanal miners and, recently, a Chinese mining company. The worst situation is losing la Mestiza and selling the rest to the Chinese. The best situation is to get a CPO and sell to Calibre. The Chinese will be keener on cooking the books to favour the Nicaraguan elite and launder Venezuelan gold in their Swiss accounts, which the government wants. The prospects of syphoning their illicit money to the UK overseas territories are not open to the Nicaraguan government, hence the need for China. | book5
15/5/2024 19:12 | Calibre have recovered the earlier fall and are now Up on the day at a new 52 week High. It would appear the call was well received and as Calibre continues to prosper the likelihood of a deal with Condor should continue to be a no brainer for them. The market has not been disappointed by Calibre’s results. | 888icb
15/5/2024 07:10 | I was not expecting this from Calibre’s rns after market closed, “The net loss per share in Q1 2024 was $0.01 for both basic and diluted (Q1 2023: net income per share of $0.04 for both basic and diluted).” Let’s see what the market makes of it | book5

12/5/2024 14:21 | Commodities and gold are not classified as an investment in many quarters but do well when the rest goes belly up All of a sudden, traditional gold bears recommend having 10% in physical gold. | book5
12/5/2024 13:57 | A few weeks ago we had a discussion about POG here. Fact is that the demand is driven by central banks and not institutional or retail investors. For central banks (especially BRICS), buying gold on the free market also in the long term is a contradiction in itself, as these are mostly socialistic/communis The long term solution for BRICS is probably creating their own, non-publicly listed supply chains (I.e. owning mines) As mentioned a few weeks ago, higher for longer interest rates are poisonous for the free-market POG (oz/US$). Be aware and remember my words | oldiegoldie
12/5/2024 13:43 | Despite no news, recently, this share price has been outperforming by a mile even heavyweights from the tech sector We don’t know how this will end, mainly because the winds have changed; gold is a promising sector. The odds are not too good this will end up much higher unless we start mining. Gla | book5
12/5/2024 13:37 | It must've gone mostly in salaries because they can't have spent that much digging a few holes, clearing a few bushes and schmoozing government officials. Having said that, they have also had a significant biscuit expenditure situation and have provided 'the village' with a couple of cases of Evian so maybe I'm being a tad harsh... | dexdringle
12/5/2024 13:32 | If I remember correctly, some years ago his annual pay-out salary was around 200k. Plus the other directors, my very conservative guess is that between 20 and 30M£ have been paid out to the board of directors since 2006. Not to mention the other salaries for staff and consultants. 100M£ total staff costs since 2006 is not too unrealistic I fear | oldiegoldie
12/5/2024 13:03 | I wonder how much MC has earned over the course of this debacle ? | dexdringle
12/5/2024 12:50 | A bit of Sunday philosophy: Typically, as a crash prophet you are right every 15 years and wrong the remaining 14. At CNR, as a crash prophet you were right since 2006 | oldiegoldie
