18/7/2024 15:28 | August of which year ? | ![]() dexdringle
18/7/2024 15:16 | As far as I know, Condor has a dispute with at least a former landowner I don't expect news till around mid of August | ![]() book5
15/7/2024 09:36 | Yea. Let's break out the biscuits (which Condor can now afford with the £500k raised). Perhaps Jim has a couple of Twix up his sleeve after all 😂 | ![]() dexdringle
15/7/2024 07:24 | 22p - Exercise of options - Should keep the lights on for a bit longer and also possibly a downside marker for eventual sale of the assets or the company (imo) However another way of looking at it could be kicks the can down the road and still masses of uncertainty. | ![]() pugugly
14/7/2024 22:12 | $100 million spent. I'd love to see a detailed breakdown of where every cent went..... | ![]() dexdringle
14/7/2024 21:01 | Basically the El Salvadorian government showed them the finger. When looking back, it’s quite surprising how fast they came to Nicaragua and pulled out the old soviet drilling reports to continue their con game. | ![]() oldiegoldie
14/7/2024 20:33 | ....or chucked out of a helicopter into a river full of crocodiles. You don't want to take any chances in this sort of situation. | ![]() dexdringle
14/7/2024 20:25 | I came along after El Salvador, or at least I have no recollection of the details of it, but if Condor, run by Mark Child, financed by Jim Mellon, got the boot from El Salvador I would hazard a guess that there were very good reasons for it. I'm only surprised that Ortega hasn't yet had Mark fed to crocodiles or chucked out of a helicopter. | zangdook
14/7/2024 16:41 | Who is this bloke ? | ![]() dexdringle
14/7/2024 14:20 | I'm waiting for a sentence on the next RNS saying 'negotiations fell short due to a shortage of hobnobs'. | ![]() sherwood58
14/7/2024 13:14 | As Zandook suggests (12824), the banter over many years, between the regular posters, has given us an understanding of both the characters behind the names, and why we are each still invested here. Dex`s 12827 sums much of our situation up as the money is dribbled away, but there is still hope that with Calibre`s site not far away and the Chinese interest in the rising gold price, a sale may yet be achieved. (provided of course that they do not run out of biscuits) | ![]() coachsailor
14/7/2024 10:08 | Have they ever actually mined any gold other than accidentally when drilling holes ? If they are supposed to be an exploration business only, then you'd imagine their skills lay in buying the rights to some land, locating gold, then selling the rights. But they don't seem to be able to do that either ? And, either way, we still don't understand why they spent $6 million on 90% of a second hand sag mill do we ? | ![]() dexdringle
13/7/2024 22:01 | You mean gold exploration I guess | ![]() oldiegoldie
13/7/2024 21:46 | Condor has no significant concern with its gold-mining project in El Salvador, because the government of that country effectively stole it from the company by legal stonewalling over the past two decades. In some abstract sense, Condor still has a moral claim to own the project; in practice, it has zero value to the company. | ![]() meanreverter
13/7/2024 20:46 | This board is a social club for the victims of a con, including some who are still in denial. | zangdook
13/7/2024 17:35 | @ meanreverter you mean in Nicaragua and El Salvador. I think it’s quite a valid point that an Aston has higher running costs than Jim and Mark in the data room. @ dex, nice Jags that you owned! I love especially the X100, such a classy car. | ![]() oldiegoldie
13/7/2024 11:21 | Why are people discussing motor cars on a bulletin board for a company exclusively concerned with a gold-mining project in Nicaragua? | ![]() meanreverter
12/7/2024 22:13 | Thanks OG. Alpina B3 GT is an interesting choice. They do it in a beautiful green too (I have a thing for green cars). I agree that Astons can be financially ruinous but the later DB9s are so beautiful. Mostly grey, black or silver though which simply won't do. It will be easier to find a nice, and more recent, nice colour F-type. I previously had an XKR 4.2 and an XK 5.0 and loved them both so perhaps that is the way to go ! | ![]() dexdringle
12/7/2024 20:40 | I had the V6 first edition. Main problem is the build / overall quality. Basic stuff like seats, aircon. Also the driving experience was less fun than expected, the V6 lacks a bit of punch and the whole thing does not feel as good as you want it to feel. Don’t spend too many thoughts on the Emira, it looks absolutely fantastic but that’s about it. I am going ALPINA B3 GT now, delivery most likely spring 2025. I love the current BMW 3 series and the ALPINA is the ultimate version (for a gentleman driver) From your list above, I would pick the F-type v8. Best overall package I think, and least amount of worries to expect. Stay away from the old Astons, they eat your cookies faster than Jim and Mark could ever do. Enjoy!! And don’t wait too long, life is short | ![]() oldiegoldie
12/7/2024 20:14 | An Emira is on my short list for a retirement car in the next 12 months. Along with a late DB9 or early DB11, or an Audi R8 V10 or an F type V8. Why did you sell the Emira ? I can see early cars now circa £65k so maybe £55k trade ? | ![]() dexdringle
12/7/2024 19:58 | Even the pushers don’t get their paychecks anymore. What a sad AIM story. Come on, 888, stay loyal to the bold hands that feed you! By the way, I have sold my Emira a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it was also not a good investment. I hoped that it might go up in value, but it didn’t. It still paid a fun dividend though | ![]() oldiegoldie |
