Yes bones - and 19th March the previous year too, also combined with a Notice of Results. Not long to find out anyway...

The GM is only for the option packages. That said, I agree it might be an opportunity for a trading update for the year end. There was one on 19th March last year.

Am guessing the year end Trading Update may be timed to coincide with the GM which is next Wed, 23rd?

Read across from comments made in XP Power's final results RNS today:

"Investment in semiconductor manufacturing capacity is growing rapidly worldwide
as the industry responds to a structural supply shortage and to meet demand for
ever more technologically sophisticated semiconductors. Demand for
semiconductor manufacturing equipment remains strong and Wafer Fabrication
Equipment (WFE) capex grew by c.40% in 2021, with further growth forecast in
2022. In total there were c.59 new semiconductor manufacturing facilities
announced in 2021 with WFE spend of $300 billion expected in the next few
years. The latest generation of semiconductor logic and memory devices are
becoming more capital intensive to manufacture as they become multi-layered,
and as dimensions continue to shrink."

More thematic discussions on the industry:

Excerpt:
” While dealmaking has been slow this calendar year—fewer than a half dozen—deals such as the Intel/Tower proposed marriage show the heat is still in a sector where demand has never been greater with so many people needing to be connected.

That heightened investment interest should only continue to build as more tech giants such as Apple and Google unveiled plans to design their own chips and more focus is put on chip design and optimizing chips, which ideally could cut down on the amount of chips needed and likely decrease the pressure currently on the tight supply chain.”

Bailing out now shows no understanding of the potential here. I agree it is a potential takeover target..

M&A is happening at the top of the food chain in semiconductors:

We know CML is open to acquiring selectively but, to my mind, it is a potential target too.

Predictably, a few followers of a certain tipster are bailing out at a loss through impatience. With CML usually illiquid, that could have an exaggerated effect so I will be eyeing up a bargain price if it drops much further on patchy selling.

Looks like a good opportunity being made available to new investors as it appears that Winterflood have a line to shift judging by their positioning on the offer side of the level 2 book. They are just sucking up all buying at below 410. I guess there will be a large sale showing in the next day or so somewhere in the 400p range.

After a brief Google search, I found a full PDF of the IC article. Certainly it is a comprehensive curation of many of the public documents on CML as well as broker research. This was freely available on the web but maybe it will be paywalled at some stage.

Thanks, bones.

Been going through the website, the detailed Alpha material (covers your points) and few other bits. Intensive 90 mins - lots of abbreviations in the tech! Good that I am a Ch. Engr. and did some of those areas years ago, but much simpler then!

Did strike me that many investors without a tech background could be put off by it.

But I looked at Shore's predictions even harder. Deliberately leaving the Cos. Reports until last. Hopefully able better now interpret and see through any polish.... perhaps! But not do till the weekend.

By the way, I'm not a frequent poster. But will be good to see words from older hands.

Welcome hew.

Apart from the secular 5G/IOT story, CML has a stack of cash from its sale of the Storage division for $49M last year. Since then CML has paid out £1 per share in surplus capital and special dividends. Yet it still had £23M cash, a good proportion of the market value.

Apart from the organic growth story, I believe there is the prospect of selected acquisitions and, behind it all, the possibility of being acquired by the many bigger players in the RF/mmWave space.

Recently, the leading US RF products distribution group, RFMW, agreed to be one of CML’s worldwide distributors (having been only the US territory distributor for CML).

I continue to believe CML has a lot to go for.

It's quite a strong piece: "high growth industrial communications market ...... attractive entry point.

Newly in today at 408p (from actually reading!) the Alpha words.

Someone may post details but sorry, I'm not going to. Alpha costs money.

I'm expecting strong growth in an expanding market, not some sort of rocket. (So not a "nervy punter"!)

Solid buying today makes me think the Mm’s went short their books to meet the sudden demand. Hence the drawback this PM as they try to work some more stock from nervy punters. It’s been cheaper to buy stock than at any time bar the first few trades!

Good to see a bit of action here which may help get things moving with a wider audience. Thompson has simply reiterated what a few of us here have been saying for a year or two.

Superplanty, thanks. Had to be that.

That Thompson fellow has a solid following judging by the number who blindly bought on his tip. It’s a double edged sword because many of them won’t be sticky holders during any setbacks in price.

That said, this stock sure needs some liquidity!

Ahead of guidance note for STMicroelectronics NV, Europe based but global supplier of semiconductor products. Part of their business lines is in competition with CML so this reads across encouragingly for CML’s markets.

“ STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, announced today that its preliminary and unaudited net revenues for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2021 are above the business outlook range provided in the Company’s news release dated October 28, 2021.“

I assume CML will be at the European Microwave expo in London on 13 - 18 February. Sounds like the place to publicise the SuRF range in earnest. Handy that it is London this time.
