I agree roddiemac2. The outlook of the board and the unlimited scope of the markets before them mean that they must just concentrate on proficient execution. I don’t have a timeline on it but the first sign of solid growth from their new markets will have this share way ahead of here, IMO.

There has been many a slip twixt cup and lip in the past. Anyone taking advantage of the fall to 33.5p in 2009 , and holding for the long term, has already made a fortune. ( the real money is invariably made in the long term ).

I see absolutely no reason to top lop here. Unless the share price gets pumped up first, I would be surprised to see much of a retrace from here. I suspect they are tightly held now. That , plus the large spread will make them a difficult repeat trade. The AIM listing may improve liquidity and narrow the spread; we will see; a very strong hold for me , and I have a large holding.

Linton, since the 433p was achieved earlier this year, CML has paid out 50p per share in a capital return which reduced its cash balance by £8M+. Arguably, today’s price of 452p is the equivalent of 502p so far as holders are concerned as they have 50p in the pocket as well as their 452p shares.

577 next resistance on the weekly chart after busting through 433 won’t go up in a straight line but I actually see this worth a lot more I’d buy the dips on cml

Per this article from Proactive Investors, an unambiguous view of CML’s prospects from one of the house brokers, Shore Capital:

”Analyst Martin O’Sullivan at the company's joint broker Shore Capital said: "Despite recent outperformance, we regard the current market value as unduly low relative to earnings and prospects (and the final special dividend). Broadening recognition of CML’s strategy, growth opportunity and financial asset backing should provide scope for a material rerating, in our view."

Hi bones, despite your encouragement, I couldn't resist trading these and I sold my holding here yesterday. I'll be away on Hols early next week, and won't be able to keep track of the markets but can relax having booked a reasonable profit. I'm sure to be back again soon.

Good luck, and keep up the posts!

Article from Proactive Investors about semiconductor matters. A concluding paragraph in it seems relevant to CML in the context of the UK and its importance to this country. I wonder how long CML will stay UK owned if it becomes a key (if small) player in the RF/mmWave chip design space.

”….With the growing importance of innovation for economic growth, we expect to see greater investment in chip design and manufacturing alongside attempts to reshore strategic components of the chip industry to domestic markets….”

Nice commentary roddiemac2.

I was in here a couple of times a few years back but, since reinvesting here in a big way after the late 2020 announcement of the Hyperstone disposal, I’ve felt highly relaxed about the investment despite the cautious comments from the board.

At this week’s final results, the board has relaxed the caution and was able to say:

“…..the Board is confident that the strategy in place will lead to significant, sustainable growth. As a Company we are well placed to return to meaningful results improvements….

“Confident of significant and sustainable growth” is bullish talk from this board but signals something special I believe.

I’ve been banging on here these last few months about the 5G opportunity that CML clearly recognises so I will sit back and see what unfolds over the next two years or more.

I first bought a small amount of these at 273p in April 2002 after the dot.com bubble burst.. By October the same year they had sunk to 125p

By February 2004 they were 359p.

By June 2007 they were 115p, and I was buying more heavily.

By September 2009 they had drifted all the way to 33p.

By November 2013 I sold some at 560p , following the FD`s example ( always a worry to see the FD dumping shares). Soon after , the company announced the loss of a customer that represented about 10% of the business( make what you want of that ). It transpired that they had another customer that represented about 10% of the business. The shares retreated again.

Poor liquidity has exaggerated share price movements. News flow was poor until recent years.

They have a better spread of customers now. I held through thick and thin because I always thought that CML had potential. That potential looks more certain to be fulfilled .

Linton, this is always illiquid, so if you want a chunk, you have to put in an order.
Should become more liquid after the changes in the recent rns.

Concluding part of outlook:

”Even though we remain in uncertain times, the Board is confident that the strategy in place will lead to significant, sustainable growth. As a Company we are well placed to return to meaningful results improvements.

Can’t argue with that.
