Here is yet another area of business that explains why CML see their future in attacking the communications devices markets, with 5G and IOT becoming necessary in more rural areas (so-called “agtech”). You can see how vast the US (and many other huge agricultural countries) is and the resulting potential markets to attack.

”Connectivity can often be taken for granted in the U.S., where seemingly every block in a major city has free WiFi. But in much of rural America, connectivity can be a significant fight.”

”......it is estimated nearly a third of all food is wasted before it has a chance to be consumed. There is no doubt that through better information and technology — helped by connectivity — that can be changed.”

The current, near term chart pattern is a bull flag.
On an upbreak, this has a target price approx 390

Thanks Net, all grist to the mill. CML's designs I think are of use across the board, telecoms, maritime, satellites, pretty much anything that relies on communications technology (both data- and voice-centric).

CML has to ensure its own supply lines don't get snagged (including outsourced manufacturers) but they did say in their recent update that they had a good inventory of raw materials and had managed things well. There should be a vastly growing demand for its cutting edge R&D though. That longer term picture is the value here.

Nothing scheduled until Final Results on 15th June.

I don’t rule out some kind of action with the cash of £30M burning a hole in their pockets and having been declared NOT SURPLUS. We don’t know if they are actively seeking acquisitions or opportunities to put the cash to immediate use or biding their time for some distressed assets to fall into their laps. CML are historically conservative but it does sound to me like they have thrown their hat into the 5G/IoT/AI arena and should really be aiming to take advantage. They recently announced a new range of products in the mmWave area:

”About SµRF
CML Microcircuit’s new SµRF range of high frequency, high bandwidth ICs targeting RF and mmWave, support emerging markets such as 5G, Satellite and IoT.
By using our expertise in advanced IC design, CML has created a range of RFICs and MMICs that are high performance, simple to design with, and simple to use in mass-market applications.”

Good timing bamboo2.

Noted bamboo2. Market cap <£50M with cash >£30M in bank. Company is profitable, business turning up, and dividend paying. I'll keep on trucking with my load!

Thanks roddiemac2. That’s my kind of investment. All of mine are either long term IP development situations with large OEM’s interested in it or recovery stocks and often a combination of both. CML is a perfect example, added to which there is barely any retail interest. When it arrives to be met with a tight supply, then the share price could benefit strongly.

bones,

New products is what this investment is all about from now. I don`t expect fireworks in the short term, but this is a very interesting medium to long term play. Patience should pay.

Received my payment via Halifaxsd yesterday.
slightly nervous as sold the holding on ex-rights day, and wondered I had got the timing wrong. Netted a good overall profit.

Waiting to see if price wants to test the breakaway gap from 10/12/2021
This measures 284-298 and was caused by the disposal news. gla

I have now received my capital payment from CML via my AJ Bell ISA and SIPP. Gives the valuation a tidy boost :)

I'm not expecting it today, Net. The nominee shareholders for mine are my broker, AJ Bell. They might receive it today but they then have to allocate it across all their clients and transfer individual sums so that might take a day or two more, I expect. Still, I live in hope!

"breakeven" - "winnings wiped out" - same .
Yes I agree, I bought for the future not the present.
Thanks bones.
I suspect a significant percentage of people will reinvest
the money back into CML - touchwood!

AOR - yes you did well there. I did OK too - a profit is a profit.
I vaguely remember, at that time, I moved the money into TRD.
I kept buying and buying and buying... (I'm still buying)

Have you included the 50p refund? This is the equivalent of 385p today.

I am about breakeven on that basis but I don't really worry about that because this is all about their future strategy in 5G including the prospect of using some of their cash pile for (hopefully) shrewd acquisitions, not to mention the potential to be acquired.

Got to look long term at these slow burners. Net, don't make the same mistake you made with AOR/RUA? :)

Back to square one.

Any chance this might bounce back higher

Any views?
