Two Decades, sure is Long term.

I learnt my lesson re Long Term around Two Decades ago, one company I bought into went from 50p to 2600p in two years, I was working and too busy to notice the climb or the subsequent fall after a promising drug fell at the last hurdle. I got out at 16p a share because I kept thinking it would recover.

A 2nd punt at 50p a share was Pace Mirco. I didn't ignore that one but I did retire early at 52 on the proceeds :)

I don't Frown on Long term Investment, but at my age I don't need the Pension pot so it's just about making cash work to produce more.

Good Luck :))

Big Cat, purely tongue in cheek!
I'm all in here currently, but on a personal level, over the last year, have found it best to sell on results and sit on my hands for a while!

some of my stocks I have held for 2 decades.

(have sort given some details about my age there I guess)

Age is a determining factor, the concept of Long Term to a 20 year old is completely different to that of a 70 year old :))

I think there are some very short-term traders on this board.

Which is odd as this stock is not only cheap but This is a stock with very sound long-term characteristics.

Thankfully I'm not a long term holder, on this occasion I held onto half my holding for the Results when I should have sold the lot before. It'll come good in August and I'll be out once more.

Investors often want cash out to cover unexpected costs and no Long Term investor can possibly be happy with the thought they might want cash when the share price is in a 12% decline.

CMC is up only a modest 80% since flotation but is up 500% off the lows. hence the recent post results profit-taking and share price softness.

The underlying performance of the business more accurately reflects what is going on with profits quadrupling since flotation

It may go lower, but given everything, it creates a greater opportunity for the long-termer to pick up a few more on the cheap.

meanwhile, holders and new investors alike will get paid 7% to wait for a more appropriate rating.

You'll never time it perfectly. A decent long term investment but even as a trader, I believe anything below 500 is a good entry price

Have watched this one for far too long now so just bought a 1000 shares for the first time.
Their PE @ 7.268 , payout (£214.30 for me) and potential to go back up more than compelling hope i haven't misread this for mine and everyone else's sake...

I think this is what's called the weakness of humans. The valuation probably ranges between 450 and 550. But of course the average retail investor has to sell at 452 even though that's the bottom end of fair value. Happy to just sit and hold long term and avoid short term noise such as the prices that other people are buying and selling at...

Thaiger, welcome to CMCX!

It bottomed out in the 440's last time, so shouldn't be too long before it turns.
