I stick to my January Profit warning and short term 2p share price target.
Woolworths card sale must have been the final nail in the coffin or should i say final nail in this bin bag case.

went into clintons on fenchurch street yesterday and it was more like panic buying, the shop was packed and the que at the till was 50 peeps long. doesn't appear to be any christmas card sales discounts on and i reckon folks still want something special in a card. am looking forward to a half decent sales update as the share price has priced in doom.

westcoastrich i notice you are doing the rounds on the retailers saying they are going bust - you sad man.

Clinton cards is not doing as abdly as the share price suggests 5p rediculous just over 1.8m shares tarded - wow £90K worth and share price down 20%. Day light robbery going on, small shareholders being shafted and the likes of westcoach speading rumours.

could easily double or even treble in next to no time. Lewin and family own decent size stake, not sure why they dont take it private at 20p per share?

"The Company seeks approval from shareholders at each Annual General Meeting to make market purchases of its own shares. It is unable to exercise this right because the Lewin family hold 32% of the total equity. Any such market purchase would therefore increase their holding and, because their holding is more than 30%, require them to make an offer for the remaining equity. To avoid this and to make market purchases of shares possible, the Company will seek approval from shareholders (excluding the Lewin family) at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting to allow such purchases without triggering a bid situation. CLINTON CARDS PLC ('the Company')

Further re AGM

The Company announces the result of voting on the resolutions at its Annual General Meeting ('AGM') held on 25 November 2008. Each of the resolutions was passed by the required majority. Details are set out below of the votes cast in respect of each resolution. In order to comply with the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, resolution 11 was passed on a poll.

Two copies of the resolutions relating to special business put to shareholders at the AGM are being submitted to the UK Listing Authority and will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility, which is situated at:

The Financial Services Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS

The following table shows the votes cast on each resolution:

Total Votes Cast
Votes For
Votes Against
Votes Withheld

Resolution 10
141,665,716
6,738,709
339,151

If the authority granted by resolution 10 (market purchases of own shares) were exercised in full by the Company and no disposals of Ordinary Shares of 10p each in the capital of the Company ('Ordinary Shares') by any member of the Lewin Family took place and no other options or rights to subscribe for Ordinary Shares were exercised or taken up and no issues of Ordinary Shares made, the aggregate holding of the Lewin Family would represent 37.75 per cent of the issued Ordinary Shares.
