05/6/2006 15:45 | long dry summer ahead -- lack of news will see share price drift --- do they do a range of world cup cards ? LOL :-) | bigboyo
18/5/2006 12:43 | possibly.. but not yet, looks like | mikeatwork22
16/5/2006 09:12 | undershoot? | kiwihope
16/5/2006 08:54 | That taget price of 50p may be attainable earlier than expected. It might even overshoot. | mikeatwork22
03/5/2006 13:14 | One Broker recently gave a target price of 50p ! post 666 - if you believe in such things... | mikeatwork22
03/5/2006 12:00 | The summer half (this time the third half of the extended financial year) is usually loss making There is absolutely no chance of any price recovery until a trading update with the final results. And that recovery would of course be contingent on an improving trading outloook ---- I am out of this stock and will await a suitable entry point (price undeclared so as not to be accused of deramping) This is a cyclical stock (in terms of share price movement) with an extended cycle compared to other retailers becuase most of the companys profit is during the xmas period --- thus the operational gearing is very very scary | bigboyo
03/5/2006 09:06 | The only interest generated is the topic of should we get out or not. | handycam
02/5/2006 20:52 | Last set of results where pretty much as expected. Cash flow is fine and I don't think there is much risk of not being able to finance debt. I think it's an interesting play at this point. I am in the US at the moment, if anything interesting appears I'll let thread know, if I can. There is renewed interest in this company after the last set of results IMHO. | scripophilist
02/5/2006 11:56 | Hi scrip, all,Looks a bit grim on this thread at the mo, is this a recovery play or has the rot set in? | oldtown
28/4/2006 12:30 | Cash flow is fine by the look of it. | scripophilist
28/4/2006 12:30 | Still plenty of interest on the buying side. E-cards are over rated and have had little impact on traditional card purchases. | scripophilist
27/4/2006 16:11 | as expected -- results show serious operational problems -- there is no easy solution and with operational gearing the downside is dreadful banks will want to keep a close eye on cashflow | bigboyo
27/4/2006 08:19 | For my sins have just bought a few! | verynervy
27/4/2006 08:18 | Yes the materials are expensive to buy in the outlets which exist - perhaps setting up cheaper solely card orientated retail outlets could make a fortune! Unfortunately due to a cash flow problem I need clintons share price to climb to make such an undertaking possible. So for now please keep this idea "under you hat"! | verynervy
26/4/2006 12:57 | Yes there is a whole section in 'Lake Land' for card making (must be others) -- perhaps that is an area to get into ? | mikeatwork22
25/4/2006 08:42 | Agreed about the price! My wife makes them - which is definitely a growing trend! | verynervy
24/4/2006 17:04 | Dont entirely agree! E-cards are so so but they dont come through the letterbox, take very little thought ( can be set up automatically on computer ) and are not easy to arrange on the mantlepiece - unless you print off your own card!!!!!!!!!!! People appreciate nice cards and get joy out of receiving and sending. Not sure what impact superstore etc will have but its not monumental at the moment. The trick (as has been discussed here before) is to use the space to add extra to card selling eg. the calendars sold and new proposed changes. Whether they were wise to buy Birthdays stores is another debate and the need to move with the times self evident! | verynervy
23/4/2006 12:10 | the hay days of cards have gone,be carefull | jeeves2
21/4/2006 10:42 | Looks like the price is certainly discounting bad news. | scripophilist
20/4/2006 15:06 | Not the first broker to do that - but what do they know? Results are definitely going to be bad as already stated by the company! The small investor is fickle and absolutely anything could happen - but I would also bet on it going lower. | verynervy
20/4/2006 13:28 | The results are going to be very bad. One broker today put a target price of 50 on the share. I feel that the share price will go much lower than that. dyor and imho. | paul140352
20/4/2006 12:00 | We need some new management. The Lewins have bitten off mor than they can chew. | u813061
18/4/2006 16:28 | Mike I think its a matter of wait and see -- but the day before results might be good,if a big buyer gets interested then sooner and if you havnt got nerves of still wait to see results. I`d be very happy to buy at 50p and wait for a turnaround but dont see them reaching this before the results! but itsallagamble | verynervy
18/4/2006 16:19 | like i said before risky should only go in once results are out and the dust has settled | soulman08 |
