09/10/2007 21:51 | numis going for 6.6p eps next year..having been 30 pct out for this year surely mr.obermars u would have thought they may learn from their mistakes? CRAZY I TELL U CRAZY!! | patviera
09/10/2007 08:20 | That might be the worst case that they just throw the towel in and close Birthdays. I wish that I had thought of that. I have said just that many times. They have too much ego in this plus there are economies of scale (ie head office costs are spread across both chains so if they close one chain down the figures do not adjust quite how you would hope) Results today not to bad - in fact quite good. Whoever the insider was who has been buying over the last few days is now taking his profits causing share price to drop back but should be over 70p soon .... | wavering
08/10/2007 21:46 | Interesting ! That might be the worst case that they just throw the towel in and close Birthdays. I wish that I had thought of that. | overmars
08/10/2007 18:22 | surely if they shut down birthdays the eps would jump to 8.5p and the shares to 85p????????????!!!!! | patviera
04/10/2007 10:10 | Yes - I have a lorra these. The price looks to be firming up nicely - looks like somebody has got a hint of the results? As an adopted Northerner I agree about not wasting our money on cards - personally I prefer to waste it on recovery stocks that don't recover ... | wavering
01/10/2007 21:45 | I bought in today at 54p for a punt in advance of the results. As a Northener it always seems to me to be the daftest business dependent on the girly pound as they send each other cards for fun.Up north we wouldnt waste our money on such nonsense. Fingers crossed for the 9th-consider this to be a free best wishes card to all my readers! | scotch broth
21/9/2007 16:59 | Everything gone quiet here. I used to hold and was a supplier to Clintons before I sold my business, but just popped into this BB as I see the share price is under pressure. Anybody know of a reason other than UK retail malaise? | eipgam
06/6/2007 16:44 | Nice to see some blue amongst so much red .... | wavering
13/5/2007 18:30 | clintons cash flow is unbelievable | patviera
12/5/2007 19:38 | tweedy browne are the best...i love em and i love clintons cos they produce so much cash!! | patviera
27/4/2007 12:35 | Tweedy Browne have increased their stake to 10% | scripophilist
24/4/2007 09:55 | Try telling your wife you didn't by a birthday card because interest rates have gone up. | scripophilist
24/4/2007 08:24 | according to the financials section they have about £160m in debt. As for the net interest paid... it has increased albeit a little, but like I said there another one at least to come and it's uncertain how much consumer spending will reduce as an effect to another hike in rates. | factsonly
23/4/2007 01:08 | The only item that is going to suppress CC. in the meantime is it's massive debt, with rates climbing, it's going to slow the recovery in terms of interest on debt and slowing consumer spending. | factsonly
20/4/2007 08:14 | IMHO and assuming H2 is a loss making period as December (H1) is usually the most profitable and retailers don't make much profit/money in Summer), then it might be reasonable to estimate a full year EPS of circa 5.6p? A P/E of circa 12 would be a fair price with interest rate rises looming. | factsonly
20/4/2007 08:13 | They still have it all to do in their loss-making second half. | handycam
17/4/2007 08:24 | Can anyone see much of CC. on offer on L2? MMs are tightening up stock availability | factsonly
16/4/2007 13:38 | With analyst estimates of pretax of circa £20m... post tax is probably £15m, making historical p/e rating of around 7 (and still in recovery mode)... no wonder its jumping today. | factsonly
16/4/2007 13:23 | go to google.com, click on news type in with the quotes "clinton cards", search and then sort by date... you'll see a list of articles (albeit all saying similar things, but with varying estimates). | factsonly
16/4/2007 12:54 | could you tell me where please ? | miked500
16/4/2007 08:21 | Lots of press coverage over the weekend all talking about recovery. | factsonly |
