15/3/2020 21:09 | So everything is going to go bust? Cinemas, shops, airlines, hotels, gyms, pubs, restaurants , churches, Bingo Halls... I don't think so. UK economy is heavily reliant on services. Government will have to rescue. Maybe Bank of England will print money and buy debts. Tax relief for business. Grants. But they'll pump money into economy one way or other IMO. | whiskeyinthejar

15/3/2020 17:50 | How are Vue Cinema doing. Surely it’s going to be the same. | smartie6
15/3/2020 17:49 | I'd feel safer in Cinema than public transport, offices or a pub. Im not confident they wash the new plastic seats down, but maybe bring some wipes. However, I can get to a seat pretty much without touching anything. Dude on door scans my internet bought ticket without touching. And I can find a seat away from strangers. But closures look likely - would the government offer compensation if cinemas told to close? | whiskeyinthejar
15/3/2020 17:29 | Pander, asking a bank to support a long term cash flow position with no knowledge for length/term is like asking a skydiver to jump out of a space shuttle and fall to earth. Given no ability to repay all the banks would be doing is adding a zombie loan to their balance sheet. The only way it works is with full government guarantees, in which the level of requirement is going to be trillions. | smartie6
15/3/2020 17:24 | Do you know I loved going to Cineworld. May she rest in peace. | smartie6
15/3/2020 17:12 | Football fans will have to go to the movies for awhile .no need for police and others on standby If it is okay to be on a crowded bus for a 30 minute journey must be okay to spend time in a spacious cinema | werethereisawill

15/3/2020 17:03 | I think you will find the banks being more accommodating than you might think regarding the outbreak. After all, it is in their long term best interest to support businesses get back up and running. These are very special circumstances that will get a measured and tempered response. | pander45
15/3/2020 14:39 | This is bust with 3.4 billion in debt and no one in cinemas this is going to zero. Massive gap down on open below 10 p then onto 0 p . The banks want there money and covid 19 is out control. The final curtain is about to be drawn on cineworld new films gone dosnt help bankrupt. Last place u would go is a cinema when there is a killer virus on the loose bust | bricktycoon
15/3/2020 09:11 | Professor on sky news - This virus has a long long way to go - So in relation to cineworld there won't be peeps going there for quite a while - Whilst China is controlling the virus, they have not got a clue as to what happens when life goes back to normal hence the piecemeal approach - Bars, club.. cinema's etc - | tomboyb
15/3/2020 09:07 | The banks will support this company through. Why, because they have more to gain by doing just that, medium to long term, than a short term bad decision to pull the plug now. They should put the Canadian deal on ice though. | pander45
15/3/2020 08:00 | This is bankrupt zero value for shareholders get out while u can. Gap down below 10 p on open. Bloodbath here with 3 billion in debt and cinemas dead the final curtain is about to come down. Mass public gatherings ban and films being cancelled the final nail in the coffin this is going to zero pence on Monday. Sell sell sell | bricktycoon
14/3/2020 14:22 | Not sure the government will ban gatherings of less than 1000 or maybe 500 people. The government have said even if they do impose this it won't stop the spread of the virus. The reason to do it is because big events such as the grand national use precious amounts of emergency services such as police and ambulance that could be used better elsewhere That said, I believe CINE are in massive trouble of their own making with all the debt they carry and even if they can continue, footfall will massively diminish and new releases will be delayed. | gisjob2
14/3/2020 13:28 | This is bankrupt 3 billion debt and public gathering ban all films delayed sub 2 p Monday game over the final curtain | bricktycoon
14/3/2020 10:54 | Had to meet a margin call, they are loaded anyway, that is the issue with companies, directors always left comfortably off while shareholders get screwed! | bookbroker
14/3/2020 10:35 | This is dead. Didn't the owners sell a large stake last week?? | bergster56 |
