The cost of expansion, Cineworld UK was a solid listing on LSE, until it reversed into the US business Regal!

huge debts, film delays and government advice to avoid areas like cinemas to come across the west. surely a risk equity goes to 0? appreciate any counter argument.

You should not be buying this until the UK infections hit peak level. From what we have seen in Asia that takes about 4 - 6 weeks if the governments act correctly. The UK will have to go through a period of restrictions on movements/ local lock downs. I expect that is about 2 weeks away. Spain will be next over the coming days.

Government are days from going to phase 2 of the coronavirus plan which is 'delay' advising people to not gather together in public places.

The reality here is that within weeks all cinemas (along with swimming pools, gyms etc) will close for 2 - 4 weeks. I am sure Cineworld will get through this but there is a few months of pain ahead.

Hi all,

My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did another Podcast a few days ago and CINE was one of the Stocks that we rambled around. We also covered lots on the Markets and what we were expecting all this Virus stuff to mean. Anyway, if you use Apple or Audioboom you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want TPI Podcast 18) and you can find it on Soundcloud on the link below.

Cheers, WD

I am so surprised this has not fallen more as I think for a while cinemas will be at risk of Coronavirus as it's a place where lots of people gather together I do not hold shares in this company

It's not the end of the worldBut definitely not scaremongering either - somewhere in between which is more then enough to hurt companies recklessly expanding through debt and acquisitions

Some weird activityHow can this survive? Common sense: how many of you will be sitting in a closed Air conditioned environment (which is known to increase risk) with a bunch of strangers for 3 hours? And be happy about it?

Surprised there hasn't been any comment on here about today's interesting RNS which disclosed a significant rearrangement of the Greidingers' interests together with a resolution of the issues relating to their loans and the potential margin calls. It also reiterated their continued commitment to the business.
