05/3/2020 12:05 | apart from footfall does cineworld get a reasonable income from studios, distributors ? | bo90
05/3/2020 11:50 | I agree the CINE experience esp IMAX is brilliant but it's a mature consolidating market up against genuine disruptors in Netflix et al, the pandemic is a massive negative that will result in a huge cut or suspension of the divi imo dyor ofc.Fwiw I won't be going to the cinema at least until the Autumn, I doubt I'm unique with that statement. | rathean
05/3/2020 11:43 | Might be worth a punt at 70p | volsung

05/3/2020 11:29 | Anyone still holding £CINE here or have they all bailed? | imranawan
05/3/2020 11:27 | Do we think Cineworld is going to update the market on Covid-19 effects on its business? Dividend is going to be cut here, I would rather they communicated with the market. This price decline has been brutal. Would like them to state if the debt load is managable with current trading. | mozy123
05/3/2020 11:12 | Cineworld Group, down 15%. Peel Hunt downgraded the cinema chain to Hold from Buy. | philanderer
05/3/2020 10:57 | If I am honest, I think Cineworld (the cinemas) are great. The Unlimited offering is fantastic and I take full advantage of the Meerkat movies/BOGOF with compare the market. People might complain about the price rises etc, but over the years I have certainly got full value out of my unlimited subscription. I will miss it when it is no longer around. I have had a narrow escape. I am hoping that it ends well for all holders. | pedr01
05/3/2020 10:52 | doesn't seem like it... you must be the bag holder (most people are when they resort to name calling) if I am wrong its only a small bet and my stop is in place. | nimbo1
05/3/2020 10:41 | He decides to go short in the middle of an outbreak, I think you've missed the boat you unoriginal mugg | growthpotential

04/3/2020 22:40 | It used to be that their biggest competition was the over leveraged and badly run odeon | williamcooper104
04/3/2020 22:17 | i went to Cworld last week. vast complex which was poorly attended. i bought a coffee and sweets for six quid 40 after a 10 min wait because staff weren't around. the experience was not great.not sure where most of Cworlds income comes from but i hope it's not purely from cinema goers | bo90
04/3/2020 20:48 | For years I have had netflix on my livingroom telly through my dvd player which supports apps. I have surround sound there also. Smart tellys have netflix built in like my bedroom one. I am far from the tech crest of the wave. Your statement of netflix being on a pc monitor with no surround is inaccurate imo. | meaty
04/3/2020 18:51 | New James Bond film pushed back from april to november - coronavirus related | philanderer
04/3/2020 18:15 | No probs Issue is that my smart quantum dot whatever TV has a better resolution than most cinemas - still love imax And that's the rub - cinemas aren't going to die but they will constantly need to spend material defensive capex to stay still So their earnings/prospective free cash flows are over stated (IMO) And then cine is so much more levered than it used to be | williamcooper104
04/3/2020 16:16 | I do apologise, for some reason, my response has been printed out 3 times. Not intended. | morti1
04/3/2020 16:10 | To think about the next greatest movie experience being designed to a small screen projected to a small audience in some social setting at best is simply digressive not progressive. Cinemas can always improve their standards. Sure I get that, but to see a marked decline in share price to suggest that, is just ridiculous. The cinema standard will always exist. It is the ultimate experience to watch the next greatest movie. | morti1

04/3/2020 16:09 | It's called ... Netflix and chill ...for a reason!. | essentialinvestor
04/3/2020 16:07 | I agree Mort. After all what 17 year old on a first date wants to bring them round to watch either his tablet or in the front room with ma and pa !😁 | eaglebeagle
04/3/2020 15:51 | Think about this. All cinemas shut down. The end of a big screen experience finishes. The great film that you all wanted to see on the big screen with surround sound has gone and only Netflix exists to be seen on a computer monitor is the only way to see the latest movie offering. It is completely ridiculous to think that the true movie experience has gone. I don’t believe it. Never will. Cinemas will always go from strength to strength. Just ridiculous to think otherwise. | morti1
03/3/2020 23:25 | Just digging around ... Pokerchips posted this over on LSE: " A little-known Hong Kong research firm called Bucephalus Research, which is run by British-born accountant Robert Medd, has raised concerns about Cineworld's accounting and its £1.6billion deal to buy Canada's Cineplex. Bucephalus, which claims to have institutional investors and says it does not buy nor sell shares itself, said last month that the FTSE 250 group was 'like a horror show' because it was using creative accounting to obscure debt and said its deal to buy Cineplex could bankrupt the company." Did anyone read what they had to say in their report ? hxxps://www.buceph.c There is a video in the public access area ... | pedr01 |
