The Evil Diaries: Lonmin and Churchill Mining

By Evil Knievil 02 December 2015

...Churchill Mining (CHL) have signalled yet further delay in this morning’s RNS. But it should be noted that the Churchill management have been cleared of corrupt practice. I paid 16.25p.

DQ mention it took 9/12 for jurisdiction then mentioned June - i took this to be how long it takes icsid to make a significant judgement which the forgery assessment will clearly be as jurisdiction was. His rule of thumb / best guess i felt rather than a date given by icsid.

Yes, many thanks Pug. Very much appreciated.

Just one question..

What made you say/think a decision is unlikely before June? (Reading some ICSID surveys I can believe it!) However, was this your guess work or did DQ make some reference to that being the sort of timescale

Many thanks

Very encouraging RNS in my view. The contribution from Noor's predecessor is very telling, as is the absence of Noor himself.

ICSID won't have missed that.

It seems fairly obvious that ROI are just now kicking the can down the road and putting up hurdles in CHL's way to delay the day of reckoning. But that can only go on for so long. You do have to wonder though what on earth ROI think this type of charade is doing to their international image. The damage must be worth way more than the cost of just buying the CHL case off. What a bunch of muppets.

Happy to tuck my CHL shares away and wait for ICSID to pull the plug on ROI's shenanigans. What was it the old Guinness advert said ?

"Good things come to those who wait"

RNS out - further sign CHL are on the front foot with regard to putting pressure on ROI unlike when they were with the previous lawyers :-

"we too hope that no future foreign investors in Indonesia will receive the treatment Churchill received. Indonesia has a bright future but the reality is a number of foreign investors suffered during the period of regional autonomy, and Churchill is one of them. The sooner this dispute is resolved, the better it will be for all concerned."

Read it 3 times.

ROI are in turmoil they are completely panicking try to salvage something out of this mess they have created. I liked the comment from Mr Noors predecessor.

As Debbie and others have said. It's just a question of WHEN and HOW MUCH

OisayYes the idea it seems is took to 3rd party funding for the final leg if needed but not needed until after doc authenticity decision . Although not needed it occurred to me it could be announced at any time. Perhaps meeting litigation funders is another reason for 2 old Australians to be making the trip to London before the Agm in Perth ( pure speculation this morning i should have asked last night)

Thanks Pug - so with plenty of cash why would they want anything to do with litigation funders ?- unless of course they think the case might/will run into 2017.
