21/7/2009 14:26 | Very good results given the economic climate, strong balance sheet, stable company, good investment! | devonlad
21/7/2009 13:14 | RNS Number : 0114W Chloride Group PLC 21 July 2009 ? 21 July 2009 CHLORIDE GROUP PLC INTERIM MANAGEMENT STATEMENT AGM STATEMENT In advance of today's AGM, Chloride Group PLC ("Chloride" or the "Company") issues its Interim Management Statement covering the period 1 April to 20 July 2009. Trading for the period has been satisfactory. Total sales, which continue to benefit from a favourable exchange rate on translation, were marginally lower than the prior year as continuing growth in service sales only partially offset weakness in the product business. Product orders, though a little lower than last year, benefitted from exchange and from continued strong order performance in the Company's Industrial Systems business offsetting softness in the standard products order intake. The order book, which increased by 2% to GBP140.0m as at 30 June 2009, provides a platform for the remainder of the year and indicates that trading will be more strongly weighted towards the second half than in recent years. The Company continues to have a strong balance sheet and substantial available committed facilities. As previously indicated and reflecting our careful management of the cost base a number of initiatives are being implemented, which will give rise to a restructuring charge in the region of GBP6.0m. These measures are expected to generate savings of c. GBP1.5m in the current financial year and c. GBP2.5m in a full year, and should provide an underpin to performance in an uncertain and challenging environment. We continue to progress our strategy to build a more balanced international business through investments in higher growth potential markets. Since 1 April 2009 we have acquired: * a further 41% of DB Power Electronics in India for c. GBP12.5m, taking Chloride's shareholding to 90%; * 10% of Newtech Technology Holdings in Hong Kong and China (a critical environment infrastructure solutions provider) for c. GBP1.3m; and * Custom Power (a US Industrial Systems solutions provider) for c. GBP2.9m initial consideration, with up to a further GBP2.1m in two years time if certain conditions are met. These investments, which reflect our confidence in the longer term outlook for the business, provide improved access to important markets. Secure power remains an essential requirement for business continuity across the globe, underpinning our confidence in the long-term growth characteristics of our markets. Nevertheless, we remain cautious about the short-term outlook given the uncertain and challenging economic environment. Commenting, Chief Executive Tim Cobbold said: "Chloride has a robust cash-generative business model. Actions to manage the cost base and to maintain the strategic development of the Group will help underpin performance going forward." Forward-looking statements This Interim Management Statement contains certain forward-looking statements with respect to the financial condition, results, operations and businesses of Chloride Group PLC. These statements and forecasts involve risk and uncertainty because they relate to events and depend upon circumstances that will occur in the future. There are a number of factors that could cause actual results or developments to differ materially from those expressed or implied by these forward-looking statements and forecasts. Nothing in this Interim Management Statement should be construed as a profit forecast. | phatprofit

08/7/2009 23:13 | Nice article, I dived in today on a spreadbet at £30 per point so here is hoping for somne positive news soon to lift the share price. I noticed Robbie Burns had a target of £2.20 for this one so plenty of room for movement based on his expectations. Typically it slipped back today the day I put my money on it, but looks a really strong share and just hope the bid rumours are true ! | bally101

30/6/2009 08:33 | Excellent movement again here today. It's hard not to believe there is some hidden reason for it, apart from the fact that it has been, IMO, under priced for some time. Regards | peaeff
