27/2/2009 17:11 | large trade at the end there... | bones30
25/2/2009 08:56 | Just tracking the Dow aren't we? I'd imagine the $/£ is relevant here too. | bones30
25/2/2009 08:27 | Or was it just a fair drop back into the 120's of the share price ? | paragon157
24/2/2009 17:28 | Interesting late pattern....news tomorrow??? | bena1
19/2/2009 17:23 | Appointment of new advisors - sometimes a sign of pending/expected corporate action | phillis

18/2/2009 15:54 | a 110k trade recorded as a buy but price then dropped so maybe a delayed sell. | manrobert
18/2/2009 14:50 | up 8% today, bid rumours again? 157p | bonzo1
16/2/2009 12:43 | BE: And on Chloride - it's been the talk of bandits through PM: And there is Tracy's post earlier - well worth a read BE: We have nothing new, or trustable, at the moment PM: BE: I think it's fair to suggest that, if there had been an approach, the company would have had to respond now PM: (And sorry - hadnt noticed that the Bickie script had been updated ) BE: But if Emerson are talking to advisors or investory about their options then that's hardly going to be a surprise, or indeed a guarantee that anything's going to be consummated PM: Cheers Bryce | mark p
13/2/2009 15:24 | I think what you mean to say is that Emmersons' approach last year would have cost them $5.40 per share. To offer £2.70 now would only cost them say $3.90 - so much much cheaper On the other hand a knockout offer of £3.50 would only cost them just over 5 bucks today, still cheaper than before | phillis
13/2/2009 14:59 | yanks will take this over, perhaps even buy LLOYDS at 65p Another stock to watch out for is (CHLD), the manufacturer of uninterruptible power supply systems. In May last year the company received a preliminary approach from Emerson Electric Co (EMR) of the US at 270p a share. In yesterday's FT it made comment that the bid rumours had resurfaced. In today's environment, most bids rumours would get scoffed at but consider that when the bid was made, the pound was trading at £1 to $2. Today it is £1:$1.42 and if you do the maths, you will find that if the cash rich Emerson were to have a second stab at Chloride at the equivalent to 270p in today's terms, it would be as if they pitched the bid at 192p back in May last year. | bonzo1

This could all be another hot air story such as the ones listed above, but it might deserve a modest bit of your attention. Long positions should be considered at market with a stop loss at 140p and a target of 270p. | mr.oz
13/2/2009 08:50 | tehre is certainly a lot of speculation surrounding bid talk - possibly weekend media comment and next week fruition? | bonzo1
13/2/2009 07:56 | Fortunately the Guardian has something different to say (I reckon The Times made a typo). "On the speculative front, power firm Chloride was 1p better at 152.25p on rumours of a 270p-a-share offer from US group Emerson Electric. Emerson had a similar bid rejected last year." Seems to be getting a little press this one, but nothing particularly substantial/detailed | bones30
12/2/2009 23:44 | I wouldn't get out of bed for 170p; especially as I got into this company at 255p! ;) | jimbo55
12/2/2009 23:19 | "Chloride, the provider of emergency power, gained another 1p to 152¼p amid renewed chatter that Emerson Electric of the US was planning a bid by this Monday at 170p. Chloride rebuffed Emerson's 255p bid last May saying it would not get out of bed for anything under 300p. However, shareholders are likely to have a different view today. " 170p? The guy means 270p surely? | bones30
12/2/2009 19:27 | bid rumours cntinue, a solid company that will be taken over soon. | jas_ron
12/2/2009 11:35 | no comment today so far..... | sportbilly1976
11/2/2009 22:58 | Continuing speculation that old foe Emerson Electric of the US is about to return with a knock-out cash bid of around 270p a share left power supply system group Chloride 6¼p better at 151¼p. | bones30
11/2/2009 18:03 | That should make 300p a share for an agreed bid all the more affordable. | sleveen
11/2/2009 17:25 | Kooba, I have heard the same rumours, talk is it will materialise early next week. When Emerson bid before it was $1.3bln or £650m now with the currency moves its in excess of £900m. A huge reason why Emerson would love to do the deal now. IMO | cool runnings
11/2/2009 17:14 | talk that emerson is engaging large institutional holders on making a fresh offer....price movement and press could well flush them out. | kooba
09/2/2009 15:48 | JPM dumping. Price holding up well considering thats the case? | bones30
06/2/2009 09:35 | Hoping that offer @148 was a clue. | bones30 |
