Very good results from Phoenix today seem to have made little difference here.

Thanks, I looked at that video again this morning before buying.
It certainly seemed bullish enough and, as you say, the boss was only speaking a few weeks back.

Good call Pete. Don't think CSN have any issues, just been punished by fund selling...

I took advantage of the weakness to jump in today at 253p - even noticed a small uptick when I did :-)
I just sense that the upcoming results (28/3) will be better than anticipated by the market and should also include another increase in the divi (xd 11/4) as a bonus.

The 'headline' spread is generally large, but many buys and sells take place within that spread. Keep trying, or place a limit order. I favour the limit order. A lot less time wasted sitting over a computer, as well as a good chance of catching an intraday spike/dip if you place your sell limit orders a bit above and your buy order a bit below the quoted prices and are willing to wait days, weeks or even months (as often one is when no ex div date is coming up).

I haven't seen an RNS notice of the results date this year but the investor calendar says March 28th.

Spread varies on a day-to-day basis.

Keep pinging for quotes over, say, a week and you may well see it tighten up at some point.

It is, not quite sure, isn't it to do with liquidity. Maybe there are not that many shares available.

I've almost pulled the trigger to invest here, but the spread seems quite large. It's it always c. 5p ?

My 253 limit order to buy triggered this morning at 252.84. That is well below the bottom of the long term range, and increases my holding by 14% . Limit order to sell the top up shares at 295 placed, though it looks as though I may have to be patient there.

Now to await the dividend declaration! Fingers crossed there is not a good reason for the declining trading range.

GLA.

The company lost a fantastic CEO, the new man decided on a strategy change, followed by an equally fantastic CFO leaving.

The new strategy appears to be to take on more debt, pay more for assets and justify the purchases through "business synergies".

It's not a surprise that the investor base is rotating, Chesnara should attract the people who invested in Phoenix a few years ago, not the investors who invested here a few years ago.

The old guard were happy with a sustainable profitable smaller business. the new wants growth even at the expense of profitabilty imv.

That said, I still hold, primarily because of the value at this price, certainly not because of the "hold forever" mentality I once had here.
