I would hope that the current market might throw up a few opportunities for the likes of Chesnara. There must be a few finanacial services companies out there that need to raise some cash, and not many with the cash to spend. I wouldnt be surprised if there is a deal done in the next 6 months or so.

Been motoring nicely of late, what with a virtually bullet proof dividend who can ask for anything more in the current climate.

Travelling north today and looking strong.
Nick Louth likes this one, bullet proof dividend he reckons, and still buying back their own shares which is good news for the dividend.
The dividend will stay, and Nick reckons it will take a virtual melt down of the markets to affect the divi.
Bought in first thing this morning, got my timing right for a change.

Chairman

Bearbull supports you in this week's IC. He writes that the buy-back of shares is a certain indication that the dividend will be held.

Kirby make your own mind up

they policies produce steady stream of cash
and cmany is effectively paying back capital from that
cash flow. They recently even bought back a few shares
so the answer to me is divi is safe.

lower interest rates should mean greater capacity
to return cash flow to shareholders

surprised not had a more positive reaction.

How many other companies are in the market buying back their own shares?

£51k is tiny but GK keeps plugging away.

Perhaps it was with those large trades registering - no doubt positions being wound down.

Shorting ban playing its part this morning with this one - not that I would have thought this stock as a shorters target.

In view of the recent Director buying I don't disagree Gmcarthur.

The current 110 price seems deflated. It looks to be more a symptom of outside events than anything to do with the company itself. I intend to top up as when all this business is over, I expect Chesnara to quickly reistablish itself with a higher price.

I agree - I've bought some - the 13% yield is fairly attractive!

Investors Chronicle still rates them a buy:

"Chesnara is fulfilling its stated objective of delivering a steady and attractive dividend yield.... They now trade on a 22 percent discount to the reported embedded value which is too harsh. Buy."
