yeah i am starting to feel a little better about the offer since we ve heard nothing from them. if we still have nothing next Thu generally what happens is they RNS an extension to the deadline intraday or after the close... of course some chaps will sell only to get mad 2hrs later when they realize they should have done their research. its very rare that we get something nasty at the last moment.

however i still feel bad about the profit warning who knows at what price the offer will be... we could have made some nice cash.

Carlyle has until Sep 14 to make a firm bid or pull out, according to the terms set out under takeover code.

Best outcome would be a contested bid. Unlikely perhaps but possible.

your brain is sick ... the last person i said dont short a target was spob. he shorted GOAL.LN from 125... alll the way UP to 150!

hvs - no he knows that T/O can make you money. and that a profit warning doesnt decrease the chance of an offer... only the price.

i guess he also knows that he shouldn't trade oil shares.... so he is smarter than you!

there will no doubt be some scaremongering afoot trying to get this share on the cheap for when /if a takeover announcement is made.
Personally I am hanging on to my shares waiting for the outcome- I can certainly see upside from here, and judging by this mornings prices , a few others have woken up to this as well :)
