No they were trades below mid price. That doesn't mean they are sells. Every trade has an opposing trade anyway. Price up strongly means buying pressure greater than selling pressure

It did Gargoyle2 but through the day there was a lot of large sells. Just shows how resilient the share price is currently which is why I continue to hold.

Profit taking? The price finished pretty much (although not quite) at its highs, didn't it?

Some interesting profit taking today after the continued gains. I am going to hold for now as I believe there is still some growth to come.

tks for response Clunes - As you indicate, defensive systems could be very complex, expensive and unwanted on a civil airliner. Better to just close problem airspace. If I understand Iran's response this morning, it appears that air traffic control in Iran knew that the aircraft was on a normal scheduled flight, but the army commander in charge of the rocket battery didn't. Under the circumstances it probably seemed likely to him that an attacking aircraft might appear in Iranian airspace. A highly regrettable failure in comms by the look of it.

You would need a RWR, a Radar Warning Received or possibly two, one at the front and one at the back (in the middle?) and bearing in mind civil airliners are large, you would need an appropriate number of chaff and flare dispensers. There might be other issues to consider such as effectively putting explosives on a civil aircraft albeit in the form of defensive measures and everything from certification issues through to insurance, would you insure an aircraft that needed defensive measures because of the areas it was flying into. The cost, extra weight, aircraft down time and drag are some other issues. I think a few more airliners would have to be shot down accidentally or deliberately to warrant such a modification, ten years ago I would said 99.9% unlikely to ever happen but then civil airliners were not under the apparent threat they are today, so 99.5% unlikely to happen guestimate, from this point on knock a couple of % off everytime it happens. Best bet remains to fly around trouble - avoid it! What is more relevant if tensions remain high is that CHG's share price rose steadily during the last Gulf War for example, but you only need increased training and flying around hostile borders to increase the use of Chemring's products. 4.4% rise but regrettably and ultimately due to some poor souls misery and the potential of war - not good.

Interesting thought Clunes - does anyone know if it would be practical to fit the right equipment to throw chaff (foil) in the event of an attack on a commercial airliner? They already have radar, although I don't know if it can see G to A missiles.

Started to shift as people realise that anti missile flares will be on everyone's shopping list, especially if training and deployment ramps up, let's hope that it is not war, that would be bad news for everyone. Will RWR and flares be fitted to civil airliners, unlikely but this is not the first time an airliner has been "accidentally" shot down in recent times.

Could not be better EssentialInvestor.Lots of tipsters out there but many of them would not be tipsters if they really knew what was going on, like us they would be making more money.Annoying sometimes to see a downgrade from someone who has a track record in getting it completely wrong moving the share price. Still, always good to see them tipping something you are in as it is usually time to get out.

Yep silly end of day nonsense on Friday - tends to be the case 95% of the time which is why I tend not to get overexcited by UT values

Looks set for a re-rating. Production set to be restarted and the unfortunate accident put behind. I'm hoping for price around 200p by year end.
