Bid target Chemring tumbles 13pc on profits warning

CHEMRING ISSUES PROFIT WARNING

Downbeat forecast sees Chemring shares tumble

edit:
"Oliver Sleath, an analyst at Credit Suisse, said. "We think this would be more likely to result in a lower price for the bid,THAN affecting the probability of the takeover going ahead." "

yep i agree, that boy Oliver knows what he's talking about

right no point arguing. yes i am amused when people think they can predict the future.... tho i have to be thankful without them i cant make profits.

"i say i cant make that money if i go to my local casino.... therefore its not a gamble. also made some hard research all the way back to 2006.

here is my question ... then why do you think its a gamble? no am not saying its 100%..."

Alek - So if its not 100% its a gamble??? Sort it out.

aleks - Why is it not a gamble as to whether a bid will emerge or not? So you think its definitely 100% on?

In a month, the share price will either be around 200-240 or around 400p in my opinion.

I agree aleks, JAWS , I think we will see more than one interested predator IMHO of course, but this is a good fit to more than one other companys products portfolio.

nope its definitely not a gamble... tho there is huge risk of profit warning because of the economy right now in these situations.

Anyone who thinks he/she knows where it will bottom if the talks collapse is an idiot.

I suspect this would probably be trading nearer 225 if we weren't in a bid situation.

It really is a gamble now as to whether a bid will emerge.

If I had been considering making a bid, I would pull out let the price collapse to probably nearer 200p then come back in a six months.

kick in the nuts for everybody this morning, I am suprised they issued this warning at this particular time, unless they were compelled to do so in light of a recent approach- I expect the share price to get trashed, oversold - then settle down- though where is anybodys guess....on a brighter note this may well attract more predators who will be attracted by the smell of blood :)

Has this been set up so the
offer can go ahead at a lower
take out SP??.

Clearly a disappointing set of results.
Order book shrinking
£15M knocked off profits due to a purely self inflicted screw up.
I thought I might take a stake if the share price fell back but not on this sort of news!
Any offer now is likely to be pretty soft and will probably be rejected my major shareholders.

nope again the plan is going according to plan so far. they must inform the market no later than Sep 14 1700 hrs if the talks have stalled and there wont be a bid or if there is a need for more time.

ganthorpe - you been told that the Co. has been approached and now they are negotiating also probably by now in my opinion doing due diligence - I don't find this confusing.

hvs - haha , yeah!

edit: well, no! a Co is not overvalued or undervalued right now, its worth what a buyer is ready to pay, once the offer is launched all bets are off.

Very very funny for a very overvalued company.
