22/12/2012 09:45 | Cheers Tarles. And Gabon is an area that Helios are supposedly looking at ;-) | hedgebetter
21/12/2012 23:45 | HB, we never heard news about Gabon. It may still be on the cards: | ![]() triples
21/12/2012 21:58 | From Tarles - iii RBC Capital (joint broker) 20/12 Chariot Oil and Gas (CHAR.L): Reign change at Chariot Chariot today announced that Paul Welch has stepped down as CEO and left the company, he has been replaced by Larry Bottomley, who was previously Executive Chairman. Non-executive director Philip Loader has assumed the role of Chairman. James Burgess, who was Commercial Director, has also left the company; he has been replaced on the board by CFO Mark Reid. Namibia Country Manager Heindrich Ndume has also been appointed to Chariot's board as a Non-executive director. Today's management changes could generate some uncertainty; but with the share price underpinned by cash, and a desire to farm-out stakes ahead of any material spend, we see little downside risk. More generally, increased industry activity offshore northwest Africa could help rejuvenate interest in Chariot. UBS 20/12 The change in management may see tinkering in strategy but the company's ethos - high impact exploration in West African frontier basins will remain unchanged. Conversation with the new CEO suggests a clear focus on partnering, spreading risk, reducing costs and accelerating the pace of portfolio, where appropriate, across Chariot's prospective acreage in Namibia, Morocco and Mauritania. Northland 20/12 Whilst Paul Welch has been synonymous with Chariot for the last three years, Larry Bottomley has significant experience in exploration over the last 30 years. Having been with the Chariot as Executive Chairman for over a year, this should ensure some business continuity. He is a geophysicist credited with rebuilding BP's exploration model. undoubted element of uncertainty and a significant upheaval that makes us more cautious, we maintain our BUY rating at this time given the strong cash backing to the shares. | hedgebetter
21/12/2012 16:56 | HEDGEBETTER 20 Dec'12 - 22:13 - 515 of 539 - So tomorrows trading - down a bit up a bit, 1% of shares change hands and ends at 27.5p...place your bets.... Not a bad guess...Too predictable. Manipulated beyond belief but plays into my favour so not worried. Hey - I managed to buy more at 26.75. Easy. Over 2-3 years this is 10 bagger, 3 bagger over 1 year. 2 Bagger over 6 months. Patience is key - and I know I am very fortunate to be in at these levels. Sorry for all the folk who lost out - but you can always buy in now. I liked the RNS. It created a baseline for what we already knew - and eased the mind re some of the BS BB posts about Welch ignoring Namibia - which he clearly was not. Larry and co want this back to £3+ Simple. They are not BP stooges - anyone who thinks they are are dillusional - or just de-rampers. Expect lots of news in Q1 2013, and loads of energy from the BOD to get the share price up - their bargaining position up - and farmins contracted. Lots to play for Whoever is accumulating - and there is nothing to say it is not several parties just below the 3% disclosure rules - are doing a great job of accumulating at a great price. Their business model should be yours! Helios are still going around teeing up acreage deals for Chariot to then buy. | hedgebetter

21/12/2012 14:42 | Alex, There ain't no wild cards here. More's the pity. Nimmrod II, is well known to BP and PB. | ![]() wild_goose
21/12/2012 14:28 | as is HRT's first well. Will we get to find out about Nimrod II before HRT spuds or TDs? Will HRT's first well create enough interest in Namibia and Chariot for the share price to get up to 40p? The Centrals farmout by Chariot won't have happened by the time that HRT spud and possible not by the time that they hit TD. I think Nimrod II data will be kept under wraps for a lot longer and you won't get the info informally from LB that we got from PW. When LB says something, it will be formal, I suspect. edit: If anyone wants to buy the whole of Chariot, then it would make sense to do it before HRT releases its first well results. | ![]() triples
21/12/2012 14:19 | Nimrod II is the wildcard here. | ![]() alex hawk
21/12/2012 13:55 | Never seen such a bad RNS. The talk was all about generalities, nothing more. It said nothing, and in particular, The Nimmrod drill. As I see it, Larry is a BP plant. We are now just a subsidiary of BP. BP move very slowly. The share price is controlled, and going nowhere. This is not post I wanted to make, on Larrys first RNS, but by this RNS he displays he is a lowly placekick puppet. | ![]() wild_goose
21/12/2012 13:06 | I see TPL was over 50% at one point.. Just shows what can happen | ![]() newswseller
21/12/2012 11:20 | Nice farm in at tpl share price now +30%. I think we have multiple chances of similar news to propel the shareprice skywards and you can safely say you are buying at the bottom or as near as you can get imo. As over at TPL just a little patience and belief.I expect great things here in the next few months. | ![]() fairenough11
21/12/2012 09:14 | THE DONKEY AND THE CAMEL A donkey and a camel were walking along together. The camel moved with long strides and the donkey moved impatiently, stumbling every now and then. At last the donkey said to his companion, 'How is it that I am always in trouble, falling and grazing my legs, in spite of the fact that I look carefully downwards as I walk; When you, who never seem to be aware of what surround you, with your eyes fixed upon the horizon, keep going so fast and yet seemingly at such leisure?' The camel answered: 'Your problem is that your steps are too short and by the time you have seen something it is too late to correct your movements. You look all around and do not assess what you see. You think that haste is speed; you imagine that by looking you can see; You think that seeing near is the same as seeing far. You guess that I look at the horizon. In fact, I am merely gazing ahead so as to work out what to do when the far becomes near. I also remember what has gone before, and do not need to look back at it and stumble once again. In this way what seems to you baffling or difficult becomes clear and easy.' ...i. 21/12/2012 08:21 | Fully expect some gains in Q1 due "updated prospect inventory" - should see 40p as a minimum IMO. Happy to hold these, appear to be confirmation from management of previous commitments. | ![]() alex hawk
21/12/2012 08:18 | yep it reads well yes we have assets but we dont want to spend all our cash taking them forward...any one want to stump up and help and get some gains very sensible | ronan7
21/12/2012 07:56 | "The current work programmes require minimum expenditure and there is good head room for partner participation in the acreage which will ensure that Chariot retains a strong cash position." "Management will continue to seek to reduce capital exposure through attracting further farm-in partners to share the costs and rewards of exploration." "We have acquired a substantial amount of data in recent months within our Namibian acreage, which remains our focus, enabling the team to work with a markedly increased amount of geological and geophysical information. This information is currently being reviewed and we look forward to providing an update on our prospective resource potential." "Both Morocco and Mauritania have seen increasing industry activity in recent months and the Company's Mauritanian dataroom, which opened this month, has already generated interest. " "With regards to Chariot's Namibian acreage - 3D seismic data is currently being mapped which will lead to an update to the prospective resource volumes in Q1 2013. A dataroom will be opened concurrent to this, which will include the data of both the Central and Northern block licence areas." "Owing to the significant amount of new proprietary information that the Company has acquired through the 2012 drill programme, Chariot's prospective resource inventory is currently under review and it is intended that an updated prospect inventory and consequential work programme will also be provided in Q1 2013.
