Just dumped all my shares, this company treats shareholders like rubbish. Shame, I was a holder for 7 years.

I guess that means we can kiss goodbye to the final div for the year. This stock really is a dog at the moment.

Bad news indeed. By a stroke of good fortune I sold the last of my holding on Fri lunchtime, based on the dire current state of the US housing market and the inevitable adverse impact that will have on car sales in the US and especially SUV sales which is a key market for CPL. Continuing high energy costs, oil price etc also mean bad news.

My comiserations Rainy, I hope you are not left holding many.

Luckily I jumped at the first warning save for a few in certificated form. Also fortunately went straight into senior which were suffering indigestion from the rights issue at the time.

Oh dear!

Chapelthorpe seem to have a habit of releasing bad news after the markets have closed, a down day on Monday I'm afraid.

6p here we come (again)?

250k was me... if interim divi to be dropped, I don't really see any reason for holding any more as nothing really to compensate for the wait and better other places for money to be working elsewhere in the market!

Best regards.

This was once a share / company that I loved and made a packet on a few years back.

looking at it now I am so glad I was not tempted back.

I fled the ship I'm afraid apart from a few left in certificated holding. I've been trading these since 1987 but I've been wrong footed on them once or twice over the last year or so and I decided that warning was the last straw. Should have really followed the directors earlier in the month.

disappointing but dividend suspension not entirely unexpected. Would not be the biggest surprise to lose final divi as well, then shareholders could be looking at a 5p share price level!

Priority has to be to get net debt to under £10mm by year end. They should receive £9mm from property disposals which will be used to pay down a £8.6mm loan, but there have been restructuring charges for the past 2 years which have to paid out sooner or later (about £5mm) plus operating cashflow will be weak again.

It concerns me as well that they have been unable to spend much on capex over the last couple of years and the adverse effect this might have on margins going forward.

Not many positives at the moment, but there should be some easing of raw material and energy costs but based on the way things have been going, dont want to predict how long this might last for!

Agreed, poor show all round. Have to hold my hand up on getting this one wrong. Such are the risks of investing in single company equities.

Yes their sales could well warrant some kind of enquiry. Not too sure on the rules.

Good old directors - sell early September a few hundred thousand shares between them - 2 weeks later a revised trading statement - happy French punters now!

This share now becoming a dog

Note that Ford is slashing US production targets for the rest of the year. Not the best news-hope CPL is having success with Japanese manufacturers in the States
