30/1/2005 19:52 | rainydays Thanks for that, I'm just hoping that if there is some corporate action, it occurs in the next tax year, not this one (I have a few CGT problems at the mo') | timbo003
19/1/2005 10:38 | as expected. the dawnay day guys know what they are about. | rambutan2
16/1/2005 20:29 | Yes I noticed that, about 2m sold at end of last week. Went through in about 5 different trades over 3 days. As yet no rns for a 'holding in company' but i'd imagine one will be issued soon saying who has a reduced holding. Have held these for about 3 yrs now, and will continue to do so as things stand. The dividend yield is about 5.7% at the current price you can buy at which is pretty good, and management have stated their intention of a progressive dividend policy & more recently that they are still on track to be able to do that at least in the near term. | atkijo
24/12/2004 01:50 | Interesting developments on the Amberley front - could well be a target. Will be watching CPL closely for a month or two - thinking of getting back in. Av a good one! | audigger
20/12/2004 12:42 | they wouldnt have any probs raising the capital. cpl looks a very likely target for them. imho. | rambutan2
17/12/2004 21:07 | Rambutan Thanks for that. I'm going to hang on in there with my modest stake. I've owned CPL for a year or two now, most of them were purchased at the 6-7p level, I sold a few (20K) at around 23p, so the rest (70K) are in (more or less) for free | timbo003
17/12/2004 17:11 | hi timbo. amb is a vehicle for the dawney day guys. they usually mean business! | rambutan2
17/12/2004 16:59 | Ah, so that explains the recent (dec 9th) RNS concerning Cantor Fitzgerald, I was wonding what that was all about. I hope Amberely's intentions are honourable (NOT!), but if they are going to any thing dishonourable (like a bid), I sincerely hope they do it in tax year 2005/2006 rather than the current one. My CGT problems are bad enough already in this tax year and I'm not to blame! | timbo003
17/12/2004 12:40 | Amberley is a cash shell looking to make acquisitions - maybe CPL is in its sights... | zzaxx99
17/12/2004 11:22 | Today is Interim dividend record date | mhsmith
17/12/2004 10:56 | amberley; mkt cap £4m chapelthorpe; ' ' £37m looks like some funny financial engineering to me. | cg1953
17/12/2004 10:50 | sorry what does that mean? | jonno1
17/12/2004 10:41 | Cfd stake announcement. | kingdwg
17/12/2004 10:39 | whats happening with this today? | jonno1
09/12/2004 08:31 | Down again this morning, another penny or so before xd would be good. | kingdwg
09/12/2004 08:25 | The price seems to have remained constant at arouns 20p for several months now, despite persistent small selling. The drop in price over the last couple of days might indicate that the large buyer has now stopped buying. | judgement
02/12/2004 12:20 | Some kind of major support going on here. If left to it's own the price would be in freefall right now under the selling pressure following results but with the mid price trades yesterday and now another 1,250,000 today it makes mere private punters wonder what's afoot. edit: And another 1,350,000 protected at mid price just appeared! | kingdwg
01/12/2004 18:12 | kingdwg You were right about a buyer mopping up (750K @ 19.25 near the end). Results seemed okayish to me, no nasty surprises, very cash flow positive, divi up, brolly division to be flogged off (at the right price). I'm very happy to continue to hold my modest 70K shares | timbo003
01/12/2004 11:11 | I think you're right Digger, I swiftly sold the ones I bought yesterday for a small loss though there's obviously a protected buyer in there mopping up. | kingdwg
01/12/2004 10:52 | Well I finally sold today. Bought most at 6.9p so still have a good profit. I can only see a downward drift until there is some positive news and certainly when it goes ex-divi. I still really like the company and think it shows a management team who are pro-active and always willing to change direction. If H2 improves to give a more optimistic outlook, I will buy back in. I will now re-invest my cash in Oys which I believe has huge potential and is currently very cheap. Good luck to those that continue to hold. | audigger |
