12/2/2019 12:59 | Scrutable - a very apposite post which reflects my thoughts. A pity that I don't have any spare cash at the moment! | oldscallop
12/2/2019 11:19 | The dropping share price, without visible cause always worries the small, investor. He tends to see smoke and to associate it with an unseen fire. So sells. The current erosion of value comes from a large holder deciding to lighten their prortfolio and has nothing at all to do with difficulties at the company. It is tiresome that the company is so well catered for with cash at bank that it can be relatively unconcerned with morale building updates. Let us write to Phil Caldwell. I noticed that Dan Caesar their IR man was no longer working at Ceres. Has he been replaced or do they think that PR is irrelevant to a prosperous developer? Anyhow the share price drop makes it Bargain Time for the worlds leading stationary power cell, and the Weichai deal should make the Steel Cell look as relevant to the EV industry as it would seem to most investors.. | scrutable
12/2/2019 10:54 | Zeppo, as far as I understand it, their fuel cells go in electric vans, not cars. In that application, they use diesel. So an evan with a range of 200 miles without the range extender could probably go 300 miles with the range extender, while still being zero emission, which makes the decision to buy an evan much more sense. Would be good to hear some news from Nissan on this. | shy tott
12/2/2019 10:48 | What's the problem here? Seems to move on very little volume, but why are private investors selling? I want to buy more, but not until the price drop has stopped. | shy tott
11/2/2019 10:32 | At the AGM, I believe that Ceres's CEO seemed to deflect the idea of their fuel cells being used in cars suggesting that batteries were the future for electric cars. I believe that the steel fuel cell works at high temperatures compared to PEM and Alkaline fuel cells. The steel cell's advantage of being able to use methane may not be an advantage in cars. It is suggested that pure hydrogen, as being used by Toyota and Honda in their fuel cell cars will burn but not explode if there is a rupture of the fuel tank. Would that be the same for a tank of methane? Shell have begun working with ITM on hydrogen fuelling points but it will be a while before there is any volume. Obviously as well as the Nissan announcement, Weichai are starting the work on steel cells as range extenders for their electric buses. So I may be very confused about the whole thing. There is a big future for steel fuel cells in static situations as with the Cummins trials, ie industrial and possibly domestic energy production. But again, I believe that the CEO deflected domestic at the AGM suggesting that householders are not good at adopting new ideas. So even the testing of fuel cells for domestic power generation may have a very long road to travel. Progress updates on field trials, with statements of the necessary length of these field trials would be helpful. z | zeppo
11/2/2019 09:57 | Zeppo re your "Ceres are not into car fuel cells anyway but" What about the Nissan - this is EV related as per extract: "Ceres Power (AIM: CWR, "Ceres Power"), developer of the SteelCell®, a world-leading, low cost Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology, is pleased to announce it has entered into a new partnership with Nissan to further develop fuel cell technology for EV applications. Ceres Power and The Welding Institute ("TWI") have been awarded a total of £8m UK government funding through the Advanced Propulsion Centre ("APC") for this project. Highlights: • Nissan, Ceres Power and TWI to enter into a new partnership to further develop fuel cell technology for EV application" | colsmith
10/2/2019 14:18 | 6th Oct 2018, Hannah Boland in the Sunday Telegraph wrote: 'Fuel cell developer Ceres creates 60 engineering jobs' This was ahead of the RNS. 2nd Dec 2018 Rachel Millard in the Sunday Times wrote: 'Fuel cell spinout wins China backing.' Again, ahead of the RNS. I keep hoping for more but: Today, Sunday Times:John Collingridge: 'We're losing power in the race for electric cars.' Ceres are not into car fuel cells anyway but the government needs to more strongly encourage this whole green energy and green transport area. Post Brexit we do not want to be buying this stuff in. We should be selling it. z | zeppo
08/2/2019 18:02 | With the Landsdowne RNS , we now know the reason for the drop and given the liquidity of the shares this is a drop that is understandable following such a large sell off in their holding.. They first came on board in the FY13/14 and had 9pc+ at 30.9.14. That was then 76 m shares in old money; the last AR shows them as having 11 m shares in new money( ie they participated in the subsequent fund raisings )or a 8.3 pc stake so not sure why the RNS refers to 9.9 pc stake. Two issues Have they stopped selling? I am slightly concerned that these shares could not have been placed with a say clean tech fund; this would suggest that there is not much institutional demand. This rather puts me of buying more but I have the weekend to consider it. PS Given that the share price in 2013/4 oscillated between 6 and 10p in old money they probably have done OK in their investment Wondered if they lost patience or had many redemptions -but no press comment I can find on them having redemptions so probably lost patience, | cerrito
07/2/2019 21:17 | Cerrito 6205 was simply my frustration at no updated news from CWR. ITM, I believe, are into Hydrogen electrolysis and supply. Ballard send regular e-mail news updates even to non shareholders. CWR had a stream of positive RNSs last year but seem to drift without news. z | zeppo
07/2/2019 19:22 | zeppo your 6205. I was not expecting CWR to have been in the frame for the OLEV bus deals announced yesterday-either for the hydrogen or electric. Do I take it that you were expecting CWR to be in the frame??? I am surprised to see share price flirting at 145p. That said the company has all the cash in the world so no fund raising on the horizon. I guess there must be some impatient folk; my reading is that quite active today and yesterday but just 0.4% of the shares traded so far this week...which on second thoughts is quite high given the %age of shares held in very secure hands. Difficult to put a value on it and also difficult to know when price moving news will be announced. | cerrito

30/1/2019 14:28 | Lack of updates on any of 'field trials'/joint ventures does not help in difficult market circumstances. Who were field trials starting with, at the end of last year? Confidentiality is fine but how long do field trials need. Have these trials even started? How is the work with Cummins or anyone else getting on? Progress updates would maintain long term confidence. There are more than a dozen fuel cell companies worldwide and different types of fuel cells. eg Ballard in Canada. AFC Energy gained positive PR recently with TV exposure of an Alkaline 'fuel cell battery charger' that they have developed. I believe that they may need development funding which Ceres have already gained in a big way. Fuel cells will provide clean, green energy to combat global warming. But which of the many manufacturers will flourish? No news can be bad news! z | zeppo

26/1/2019 09:41 | Any good article about substitution of platinum group metals (PGM) in mobile hydrogen fuel applications? Question, Will PGM have a big role in vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells, or they will be superseded by new materials? Thanks | book5

21/1/2019 10:33 | 1. More press talk on weekend on failure to complete big nuclear energy deals. Fuel cells will continue to be developed to provide significant power for both static and mobile situations worldwide. 2.
