19/12/2016 15:37 | cerrito the agm was sufficiently well attended. There were around 15-20 PIs with time to talk to most of the directors and senior engineers. No hype - only justified pride in achievement The usual works tour with much of the stuff at arm's length, seen through glass walls protecting clean rooms. The production line making small quantities for testing Not much to learn except to pick up confidence in the management that they are continuously improving the product and process, scaling up the power range to 15KW stacks. It looks unlikely that anything will be commercialised yet. Some surprise that KD Navien with their huge boiler production, and now entering the UK market is content with existing CHP technology and shows no sign of progressing the fuel cell approach. Many of the directors have taken delivery of, and are testing the first batch of boilers distributed by BG. One observed that he was closely monitoring performance and after a week's use already showed 30% fuel cost savings. Early days. Nevertheless when I got home I thought the day well spent and the share price far too low for having produced the best medium strength fuel cell product in the world and felt the risk and 18 months wait ahead well worth taking. Doubled my small investment in a portfolio of ten. Today's RNS significantly raises the potential one can see for the company. Impossible to predict the outcome of the next three years, but it is reasonable to expect out global performance by 2019. The management inspires greater confidence than the several others in the UK fuel cell business: AFC,ITM,IEH,IKA, some of whom have developed great IP, but have little idea of marketing internationally and cannot do justice to their technological achievement. | scrutable

18/12/2016 14:28 | I need to focus on CWR before I comment on your question, Scrutable...Also to see if I should top up at these prices. In the meantime did anyone make it to the AGM? I was tied up and I imagine that with the railway situation there were fewer people | cerrito

18/12/2016 13:36 | We have to write off the years of waiting and steady progress and consider the point reached in the glass, we hold, 'half full'. Ceres, with its unique printed ceramic SOFC steel cell seems to have matured a version of the leading fuel cell design for mass production of G2P at a level of electrical efficiency (55%) (in CHP applications - 92%) not reached outside the laboratory and at a cost possibly lower than anywhere else in the world. Admittedly they have not yet succeeded at high enough power ratings to cover all fuel cell opportunities but they still have time on their side, and have tested successfully at 15KW with a current target of 30KW, well in sight. Were they able to reach 100-200KW they would compete for attention in the nascent EV car industry, and I expect this to happen. Am I correct in this assessment? | scrutable

28/11/2016 17:50 | Not sure what caused today’s fall; more activity than normal but the 690k shares traded a v small %age of total shares outstanding of 1 billion. Perhaps people think that a marcap if £87m generous for a company with projected revenues this FY of £2m I am long and-for the moment at least-wrong. | cerrito
16/11/2016 18:25 | I have to say I was surprised to see this in the Edison report after the very many years of development already put-in. "There is still development required to take the 1kW platform for residential applications from prototype to commercial readiness" Any views. Apart from that it is all very encouraging! | smokey 1o3

16/11/2016 12:12 | Thanks andrbea That's the most thorough and highest quality report I have seen on any aspect of alternative energy or FCs. It is mandatory reading for everyone who reads this b/b and will save days of personal research. It, credibly, pictures a colossal future for anyone prepared to wait for commercialisation in 2018 with substantial price appreciation to say 2-3 bagger level during the next 12 months as these forecasts look more and more realistic at H1 and FY 2017. | scrutable
09/11/2016 19:18 | When I heard Trump saying that he was going to abolish EPA I thought about lightening up on CWR but did nothing because of the wide bid/offered spread. I see the Cummins deal is with the Department of Energy but no doubt Trump will be focusing in on this and of course possibility that when Trump takes over this deal will at such an early stage that it will be possible to kill off…pure speculation on my part. That said I listened to the very recent Zeus interview- link below; he refers to the Cummins data centre market as a rapid growth market in need of solutions; fuel cells produce –Zeus says-direct current rather than AC, which needs to be transformed to DC, and also fuel cells would have lower capex requirements. If indeed this is such an urgent and important area as Zeus indicated one asks oneself why commercial funding cannot take it forward. hxxp://www.directors | cerrito

02/11/2016 08:12 | Today's RNS: Version 4 of the Steel Fuel Cell " has been released to customers on time and on budget, reinforcing the Company's reputation for successfully executing against its technology roadmap. Higher power density and start-up timescales compatible with vehicle applications have been proven, making the platform increasingly commercially attractive in a growing number of markets (see video here: Technology Update) Ceres Power's existing and potential partners will benefit from SteelCell version 4, and with further exciting core technology developments on-going, the Company fully expects further improved iterations of the SteelCell platform to be released going forward. The net electrical efficiencies now being delivered led to an award from the US Department of Energy, which will see Ceres Power working with global power leader, Cummins, in the development of technology for the emergent data centre market (see release here: Ceres & Cummins). Mark Selby, Chief Technology Officer at Ceres Power said: "A year ago Ceres Power committed to delivering SteelCell version 4, and the latest advancements successfully incorporated are testament to the team's ability to execute. The primary objective to reduce manufacturing costs was achieved through removal of over 20% of the processing steps and improved material utilisation. The performance of the platform has been further improved to deliver in excess of 50% net electrical efficiency in prime power applications. Performance through 1000s of rapid hot/cold cycles has also been confirmed, to the point that compatibility with vehicle and genset applications is being demonstrated." excellent news: 1) version suitable for vehicle applications 2) "an award from the US Department of Energy," 3)" reduce(d) manufacturing costs.... achieved through removal of over 20% of the processing steps and improved material utilisation" 4)performance of the platform ... further improved to deliver in excess of 50% net electrical efficiency in prime power applications No mention of any successful developments jointly with Honda or Nissan but powerful remarks on the association with global giant Cummings. Ceres' long arduous development concentrating on perfecting a very low cost, basic steel cell, to avoid the disadvantages of the more general ceramic approach, seems to be pulling ahead of the global fuel cell pack in developing the technology and may become the generic licensing solution for the process. If so this has gigantic implications not remotely in the price at present. | scrutable
27/10/2016 18:44 | P/O No longer fully true since sterling Brexited down nearly 20% to EU1.12 to the £1.00, making Horsham very competitive. Not that that is likely to be decisive since I imagine that a volume car maker would end up producing the FC under licence. I wonder why there has been no public comment on the type of FC used in the Honda Clarity FCX model, (FC fitted below the floor and probably fitted in japan). Several of these are on the road in California near H2 filling stations since selectively made available for $600/month in 2014. Plenty of people will have seen the FC at close quarters At the NY motor show this year Honda showcased an upgrade concept with an extraordinary max range of 435 miles in substantial improvement over the Toyota Mirai's 300, THe FC was more elegantly and safely placed under the bonnet. I hope we will get some hint of Honda's choice of FC from CWR's FY results due Tuesday 8 Nov or at least a month later at the AGM, which has always included a tour of the Horsham works see also target='window'>h target='window'>h | scrutable
