My thought were echoed by another poster, I think somebody might be buying a stake
to cherry pick on the cheap, no bid, I think what Topinfo does is disgusting and
you should not use his thread to encourage them to buy into the stock, causes
spikes that trap a lot of people.

I wouldn't place too much hope on that, given that Spreadbet magazine seem to have called it disastrously wrong to date. They should be considering where they went wrong, rather than looking for conspiracies.

Max - I sold out here because I wanted to load up on Bumi Plc.

My thoughts on Ceres, however, have not changed. In fact, despite the worrying title of the RNS ('Winding down'), the point is that they are in discussions. With who? My guess is BG and/or one of the other current partners. The best outcome would be a financial commitment from one of the aforementioned, but it could be a bid that materialises.

BG are certainly still keen on 'cleaner energy' and they are unlikely (in my opinion) to want an option, for the future, like Ceres, to fold.

Maybe an outright purchase, similar to Econergy in 2011:

I'll pop back in here to check on events as they unfold.

Why not when you know the technology works because of your involvement in it and you can get 51% for less than £2m?

Can't see why they'd want to sink more into this, except perhaps for PR. Writing off £20m is hardly going to hurt them.

I suspect 'Green' PR was one reason they invested in the first place, like BP investing in wind turbine blade makers. If they'd ever got a return it would have been a bonus.

Cant see why British Gas would want to write of a £20m investment do you ?

Sums it up Pierre Oreilly.

Those that bought in at the bottom last week if they sold out on the high this week have done well but those that are holding for more may be disappointed.

Topinfo will ramp away to make his buck but never lay out all the facts the risks for those that don't know better. Many examples.

Company in talk,an offer will be made...it just depends how much...

I think you're spot on there.

Problem is, any buyer won't buy the company off the shareholders, now will they? They can buy it very cheaply off the administrators, and get all the good bits of the company and all the technology while dumping all the debt (I know, I know, you think it doesn't have any debt!).

Francis Maude is rightly concerned about the workforce and protecting jobs - can't you see that that has nothing to do with shareholder interests at all? The view of shareholders - rightly or wrongly - is that they are in it to make money, and if they don't, then tough. No one - and I'll say it again - no one is bothered about shareholders, apart from the 'shareholder action group' which will no doubt be formed when shareholders have lost everything in an attempt to nail the directors/new owners(which may be one and the same) advisors, auditors and anyone else they think is responsible (but isn't).

I'd say that's 99.5% sure to happen - the other 0.5% is the company survives with some investor who just has an interst in fuel cells so invests ion it (and even that will lead to massive dilution for shareholders).

It's very sad to see pumpers and dumpers operating. Nothing wrong with traders, but when they lie and try to sucker in punters saying buy buy buy just so they can so they can sell sell sell while saying it, just stinks imv.

I note that Ceres CEO successfully oversaw the sale of MAPS to The General Electric Company. He joined Ceres Power as Chief Executive in September 2011.

The US independent expert who recently reported favourably on the technology was Dr Minh. During his 25 year career he has been responsible for the overall technical objectives and R&D direction for GE's $multi-million fuel cell programmes.

Looks like GEC connections are being brought to bear here!

Hope you sold out, Topinfo and his ramp friends have a lot to answer for with this
stock, yet they still carry on pump and dumping elsewhere.

I think it would make sence for British Gas to buy up all they can at 2.5p firstly to acquire a major shareholding for next to nothing and avoid having to write off their existing £20m investment. That is if they knew the technology was good and they were prepared as a majority shareholder to inject a loan into the Company to see it through to production. Maybe that is why Ceres is desparate to keep the share price in check for the time being through their RNS releases? Anyone have any thoughts?
