11/4/2019 08:00 | mitchy. CNA is a solid company , making solid profits paying excellent dividends . Most shares are down my ones. TUI DOWN 40% in 3 months Aviva down 10% | whatsup32
11/4/2019 07:56 | In all the fuss over the eps drop caused by the draconian tax burden let's not over look the 12%increase in operating profit . Efficiencies ,debt reduction increased sales are starting to impact the bottom line. The increase in electric goods across the board are all good for Centrica. The S&P see a turnaround this year and I agree . The average broker has a hold on cna and I think that's what I'll do. | mitchy
11/4/2019 07:46 | Ofgem toughness rules for new entrants. Have to show Funds and be fit and proper, provide a good level of service and meet regulatory requirements to became a new supplier You’re welcome | whatsup32
11/4/2019 07:42 | mitchy ‘BG actually gaining customers’ It’s not a difficult. All you have to do is be cheaper then others, same product coming through the same pipeline. So NO USP either The trick is to make profit. Conn stated he would let customers go if there was no profit , hope he hasn’t changed just to please . Turnover is vanity , profit sanity | whatsup32
11/4/2019 06:28 | mitchy11 Apr '19 - 05:41 - 17197 of 17199 0 0 0 Haven't phoned British Gas yet to try and get some idea about customer numbers switching to them but I read in an article ,this morning, saying that employees are 'inundated' with calls. Well yes that's possible, but on the basis the call centres have been culled it might just be the assets being sweated ! | bennodean
11/4/2019 05:48 | Brexit delayed until October. | mitchy
11/4/2019 05:43 | Looks to me as though British Gas have finally got their act together after all these years and are actually gainingcustomers for the first time in years. | mitchy

10/4/2019 17:14 | wendsworth - "Directors and other PDMRs must not deal in shares during a ‘close period’, that is the period of 60 days before the announcement of annual results or the publication of the annual report (or, if shorter, the period from the end of the financial year to the announcement or publication). In the case of half-year results, it is the time between the end of the half year and the date of publication. If a company reports quarterly, the close period is 30 days before each announcement or, if shorter, the period between the end of the quarter and publication. (The same restriction does not apply to the company’s interim management statement, though a cautious approach would impose a similar 30-day ban on dealing.)" | mitchy
10/4/2019 16:43 | In the annual report, Centrica said Mr Conn had been "reshaping" the company against "the challenge of a constantly shifting operating environment". "Iain has shown significant resilience in the face of this challenge and has led the business through the shifting context, keeping the strategic objectives in sight and ensuring that the organisation remains adaptable and innovative". See after all what you nasty people are saying about him, mro. | mroalan
10/4/2019 15:49 | mitchy : You're SO welcome. We've all done it! I now try to focus on the old adage , 'it's always darkest before dawn'. The 'key' factors are to invest in a robust company with a solid reputation and not to over-stretch oneself financially. If one sticks to the latter one always has the option to average down once 'the dawn beckons' ...and IT WILL! As to personal contact on switching I've done it all on-line. I also have my FIT solar panel account with British Gas. It would be nice to see some more serious BUYS on the part of the company's directors. Is there a closed period leading up to the AGM ? | wendsworth
10/4/2019 15:44 | Just done a quick switch comparison for duel fuel and for a fixed deal with quarterly payments British Gas comes out on top by a country mile. AND they include boiler cover to 2020 ! | mitchy
10/4/2019 15:18 | Conn will earn much less than last year even after his rise. last year he had a £4m bonus. This year he had no bonus, but a pay rise. Not trying to defend it, just trying to clarify the full picture. We do not need to have collection for him, he will not starve. Personally, I do not give a damn as long as he does well for the shareholders in the long term. After all, it is us who employ him. CEO are fat cats by any standards, but set against the size of the company a million here and there is insignificant. | careful
10/4/2019 15:17 | Tim has responded with an automatic "i'm not in the office at the moment".No real surprise there. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and give him an opportunity to respond. Included in the email from him were two numbers to call. As Nortic suggests it's the sort of information which could be construed as 'inside information' so I've come up with a devious and cunning plan to find out the 'general feeling' amongst staff as to where customer numbers might be heading ! ....to be continued Wendsworth - thank you and for the moral support and telling us your switching experience...good post. I'm sure ,as well, that you aren't the only one to find BG's offers the best. Just as Martin Lewis recommended . When you switched did you get the impression that the sales person you spoke to was rushed off their feet perhaps ;)? | mitchy
10/4/2019 15:03 | bought a few today, guess if Con has give himself a pay rise the divi must be safe. WJ. | w1ndjammer
10/4/2019 14:46 | mitchy:I've read your series of posts and the response of genuine posters empathising. From my limited experience ..it's always a conundrum . However , on the occasions that I've succombed to, as Bunyan so eloquently put it, 'The Slough of Despond' ..I've always lived to regret it. I remember baling out of Elementis and Lloyds when their SP's inexplicably hit 25p! On my very limited management of the investment fear factor I would countenance you focus on the fundamentals . Taking my two examples neither elementis or lloyds were or are 'tuppeny halfpenny ' companies. In my view , neither is Centrica. On the subject of 'insider information' I can reveal that my switch back to British Gas took place on 4th April 2019 ...fact not Fiction !! As switching has been an annual event for me since the 80's , and I consider myself to be relatively informed, I do not believe I am the ONLY one. In this respect up to date figures to be released at the AGM could prove to be interesting. | wendsworth
10/4/2019 14:16 | I'll be shocked if you get a response! | nortic 007
10/4/2019 14:15 | That would be inside information....... | nortic 007
10/4/2019 13:50 | I've just sent an email to Tim Cowen at British Gas to ask if British Gas have continued the trend of reversingCustomer losses to the point where they are gaining customers now. Will let you know what he says. | mitchy
10/4/2019 11:41 | Serious questions need to be asked in next results meeting about continuing share price slide, and what actions are going to be taken to improve it. | jeannettetigger |
