With CNA I think long term it’s a safe bet I’m tempted to jump back in. Hopefully they can unload the nuclear stake and with the latest price increase and oil price on the up, the future should be bright.

Hope you have a great time there. It's always good to help people. It was a good day for the miners, CNA seems a strange one, it seems if the Ft is up well they go down.

My neighbor was an old couple and they replaced the fence when I was on holiday about 14 years ago. Unfortunately the ‘professionals’ didn’t do it straight and my neighbor ended up loosing about a 200mm at one end. He lost his wife then had dementia after that poor chap and was moved to a home.

The new owner of 5 years , is a really nice lady , she works for the NHS and does all sorts of good will . Since I was doing the garden anyway I volunteered to do her fence free of charge. Good should go around.

Hope we all have a better day tomorrow.

Don’t have a clue as to what’s happening today and what may happen tomorrow. I’m all in Vodafone right now and feel s..t about it as there is Trading Announcement tomorrow I’m expecting bad news.should have taken a small loss and ran but didn’t.

CNA,SSE and other utilities were all down today and again haven’t a clue as to why.

I’m a source for knowledge:) .Those two CSE’s weren’t wasted,

I've done 8 hrs whatsup, that's enough lol, probably did as much as two. Just get stuck in, you have to if your own. What do you make of CNA at the moment, it looks like we are heading back to the 140s ? I thought when we were at 164p it would hit the 170s and up ?

Sorry mjb2, there are a list of company's in the Ft where you do not pay stamp duty because the HQ is outside the UK. They are handy to have in your portfolio because they only have to go up a little ( just covering the buy and sell ) to make a profit. I will put the list on

Uh Ohhhh....

The worlds worst investor (me of course) has just dipped a toe in at 150.5p.

I see the shareprice is bumping along at the bottom of the rising channel.

A few P bounce would be nice.

There is only three companies in my list of duty free’s that I like so my choice is limited .

The best thing I could do is sit on cash as I’m unsecure of the market as a whole. But I won’t as I don’t have the patience to sit on the sideline

Yes whatsup, it's hard to know which company to go for. Excluding none stamp duty shares I would probably go for Vodafone looking for a long term hold

It’s easy to take a small profit but bloody difficult to take even the smallest loss.

I’m fortunate I got into CNA at a late stage and managed to make a few quid What was it you used to say Groundhog Day?.

My last purchase in Vodafone averaged about 178.3 including costs and the Trading update is this Wednesday. Nervous holding them as they are at 8 year lows, I get the feeling someone knows something I don’t know.

If I sell these I’m going to look at TUI,Ferguson and Glencore. Last time I made a small loss on Glencore but more then made up for it with the other purchase. I may look at Premier Oil again and treat it as Insurance.

I am nervous of the whole market .

Yes whatsup, we should not feel guilty. I started back working again about 3 years ago. I had 3 years not working just sat at home buying and selling and I made a lot of money. The most I did in one day adding up all the purchases was 628k, and made £1,400 pound profit, just buying and selling Glencore ( you know there's not stamp duty on these). Not had much luck lately. I sold 48k shares here 145p on to see it go up to about 164p. Not complaining because I still have 50k still here. The Lloyds shares I bought with some of the money gone down for me about 3.5p

your job is certainly not easy, specially in this heat and at our age. I lost 2kg in the past two weeks doing the garden (Honest). And I learnt how to mix cement take down cement fence posts and then move them a few centermeters , remove decking , lay stone and seal it ,cut stone. I absolutely loved it

My wife is about 15 years younger then me . Does that mean I have to work until I’m 80 so that we both retire at he same time ?:)
