The dividend gets paid out of the group revenues which increased to over £15 billion as of yesterday & not the profits which still stood at £626 million, to say it will be cut by around 60% is just ridiculous.

I’m still holding, the upcoming dividend should give the share price some support, the results yesterday could have been a lot worst, the big utility companies were always going to lose customers to the start up energy companies because the government gave them some advantages to make the market more competitive, for example they are exempt from the Energy Company Obligation.

Increased P1 reseves by around 1500%!!!!! Not going to comment on the rest, have a read....

Yes that is 1500% uplift (and thats just the P1) It is hard to believe how significant this is.

THe herd have not arrived yet.. Its still under the radar of most investors.

Add to it 40 million USD in the bank
Heading for 4,000 boepd production in the short term
Just announced 24 well development programme for this huge resource.

Some comments from twitter below

#RPT A truly gigantic reserves upgrade for O&G holding #RegalPetroleum. About to catch a flight but am totally ecstatic by this news. Totally oustanding. 1P (proved) soar from 1.9mmboe to 27.8mmboe and a further 24 wells. Gobsmacked! investegate.co.uk/regal-petroleu…

Dont waste your time and miss the boat, this is still seriously undervalued .

Saw Conn on Ian King live.
He knows what he doing.
Happy to hold here.

Reading Ian Kings written report today;
Conn says that he did not think about CNA being a takeover target for one of the oil majors or Amazon.
But admits it would be an attractive asset.
Many energy majors in Europe are merging and consolidating.

Interesting times for Centrica.

It was a bad day for us, glad it didn't stay around the low of 143.7p. I don't think it was the customers we lost more profits down 20%. Early in the week yet hopefully recover by Friday

There's nothing bad in the interim and that is in itself very good.

They have decided, with a caveat, to maintain the dividend, and not to cut it again.

We all know that they are cutting costs and restructuring, but we don't know exactly how that will progress.

I'm happy with the report, puzzled by the market reaction.

After I looked through these results, and there were many headwinds, I was encouraged.
This cold long winter turned out to be a two edged sword.
The price of gas rose and yet the pressure to resist switching to upstart competitors kept customer prices lower that they perhaps should have been.

Now some of the upstarts are either out of business or forced to put their 'teaser' rates up hugely, things should become less unstable.
Who knows Centrica may even win back customers.

The chances of a reasonable regulatory review have increased.

Me neither careful and I think hybrid is the way it will go. I just don't think the technology for all electric is there yet and won't be for many years. Also, how will the government make up for loss of taxation on fuels, surely they can't put it all into electricity? Update a bit of a curates egg, nothing to frighten but then nothing to encourage buying either. Can only see the share price falling back a little here so an even longer wait for my 240p!!
