06/4/2018 09:28 | Used to love Bed and Breakfast too. Another great way of trading in shares so we could keep more of the profits for ourselves instead of for the taxman and his henchmen. ;) Not so easy now and you have to be really creative in how you trade now. | capeview
06/4/2018 09:25 | Hi Nortic, just taking Rottweiler ( shih Tzu ) for a walk. Yes it's always been a pain for all investors paying so much tax. Years ago people use to pay the tax before a horse race. The betting company's like Ladbrokes, Coral threatened the government at the time unless they stop paying tax they would move outside Britian. It was going to be lots of job losses and the Gov caved in but they refused to stop taking money on shares which is a shame | jpjohn1
06/4/2018 09:23 | CNA share price tends to retreat from these levels but these pullbacks have been reducing in size so I’m hopeful it can break out soon & fill the gap up to £1-60,I’ | mercer95
06/4/2018 09:00 | I'd be more than happy if the close was in 5 mins :) | nortic 007
06/4/2018 08:47 | Good work jp and gratefully received by all. There's always been cries that stamp duty should be dropped to 1/4% but we're still waiting. It's funny but maybe a dull up 20 or down 20 kind of a day is what's best for CNA to perform, rather than your 160 up or down days.FYII spoke to a pal of mine at Winterfloods to thank him for giving a young lad I know the opportunity for working there and during the conversation he happened to mention that there was some new money coming into the market today which is obvious I guess for this time of year. | nortic 007

06/4/2018 08:33 | Morning all, late night 2.30. Looks a great start for us today. Yes paying no stamp duty is always a good thought for any of us. Like I said yesterday, that 1,400 profit if I would have paid stamp would have been -3,140 pound, so on that day I would have lost 1,740 pounds. If all the shares I bought I had paid stamp I dread to think how much I would have paid. This was on the ADVFN site, not sure why they took it down. I pressed my Ipad at the time and I took a picture of it | jpjohn1
06/4/2018 08:30 | Chinese dentist up already | nortic 007

06/4/2018 08:18 | Morning all. Nothing wrong with a little Man Bonding. At least we're not talking about Handbags and Shoes or what kind of dresses to wear? ;) Thanks for that post yesterday JP about the shares. Will look into some of those, never really thought there were that many shares that didn't have Stamp Duty other than if you CFD or Spread Bet? | capeview
05/4/2018 23:31 | I'll drink to that. | nortic 007

05/4/2018 22:04 | That was leg not led. Lol | jpjohn1
05/4/2018 22:03 | When I was 16 I went through all the judo belts, but stopped it because I could not get rid of 6 inch bruises on both elbows doing break falls and did different forms of Karate in Oxford. I did not think much about it at the time but looking back I was a fanatic, training 3 hours a day and lifting my led above my head, it was so painful at times it brought tears to your eyes. I would stand in the center and about 12 people would take turn trying to kick you in the head and you would block them. My arms and legs where like your spine with all blocking I did | jpjohn1
05/4/2018 21:48 | Yes it's great flying, but I don't fancy doing the loop again a few thousand feet up !! Lol | jpjohn1
05/4/2018 21:46 | Have you ever thought about playing Table tennis, when I was in my late twenties and early thirties I played 7 days a week either training or competitions. It keeps you very fit. I played in a team of three one was a junior England player, so you can imagine how serious it got. Played in Germany a couple of times in competitions | jpjohn1
05/4/2018 21:41 | You have been around :). I have my ATP , flew 727 as a flight engineer and worked as a flight instructor for some time. I miss flying very much , recently took up training on helicopters, but unfortunately lost a good friend who was a chief pilot and used to train with me . He had a fatal crash about 2 years ago. I would like to get a full licence for helicopters now | whatsup32
05/4/2018 21:22 | The laces could also do a fair bit of damage if I remember correctly :-) | sicker
05/4/2018 21:12 | Remembering when I was young, my first football boots had steel toe caps. Footballs in them days were more like medicine balls, and if you headed the ball when it was wet it nearly knocked you out. This is why when you look at old footage of footballers there were no strong shots the ball was just to heavy and players just dribbled the ball | jpjohn1
05/4/2018 20:59 | I'm interested in most things, football. Oxford fan ( somebody as to ) I use to go there 50 years ago, my eldest brother did Oxford City training. I went for Mid Oxon trials. I use to run 15 miles every day, day in, day out. I have had an exhibition of my Artwork. And one art shop near me had only my glass engraving pictures of animals and birds. I am a big animal lover. I had a big aviary of parrots, when I was 11. I was one of the first bird ringers finding the migration of birds. I've held about every British bird, from Owls to Kingfishers. Like going to a marsh and spotting birds, I know all the songs when I'm walking along. Going back to Oxford football again, I remember watching Ron Atkinson play for Oxford, he was know as the tank and if anybody had the ball he would just kick there legs away from them. Evening games there was a strong smell all over the ground with liniment | jpjohn1 |
