You only have to look at the last 10 year chart, other than the last 6 months, with all this talk of price capping it was a 2 - 3 and sometimes 4 pound share. This will go back up, not sure like the rest of us on here when, but it will eventually.

I think it has the potential to revisit 200p once again probably this year on good market sentiment and company specific news...anybody remember Tesco share price movement?..

A good afternoon Nortic, I am just very surprised where the share price has ended up. This is such a large company bringing in big revenues and a great yield to boot. Fears based on price caps and nationalisation are way over done, easily remedied by the government reversing their decision to tax utilities, surely that would give a substantial saving to hard pressed bill payers? I hope like you guys this resumes the uptrend and reaches broker targets of 175 prior the x-divi date, and other corporations start to show an interest realising the potential we see. Have a nice Easter Sunday.

Morning Kulvinder Re: Economist Article I've read some of your previous posts and in one you refer to possible corporate activity in the future as a way of bringing the share price back to life and I agree with that but it was nice to see last weeks rise done of it's own back.I've read that Economist article now on a couple of occasions and as well as being factual with the odd theory thrown in it does seem to make a lot of sense. As we've seen in many industries over the last few years, times are changing and business have to change direction and the oil majors are no exception. That article and I presume many more to follow could start to gain momentum and start to make people think. I sent that piece to a trader in CNA this weekend (most City folks don't read the Economist, lol) and he did comment how strong they all felt at the end of last week.Hopefully one industry's rebirth could be of benefit to another.Have a good Easter Sunday

I see Corbyn's face over the front of the Times this morning for all the wrong reasons. His attempts to win back over the Jewish community look rather futile.

"Moreover, small beginnings may mask big ambitions. Mr Wetselaar says his aim is to generate electricity returns of 8-12%, which he thinks is feasible because Shell, with its energy-trading experience, can profit from the heightened volatility of power markets in the era of renewables and EVs, as well as from more flexible demand from consumers. To become material to Shell, the electricity business would need to grow to $50bn-100bn, on a par with the size of its current gas business, he says. Scott Flavell of Sia Partners, a consultancy, mulls whether, having acquired BG, an upstream producer once owned by British Gas, Shell might covet Centrica, owner of the downstream part of British Gas."

I agree the Trent 1000 is a wonderful engine.
Current problems will soon be sorted, routine development I will wager.

I was thinking that there is not much further to go with this aero engine technology now, a mature situation.
The smaller 2 spool geared fan engine currently being developed with the larger fan, will be the next development.
...but we are almost there.
not much further to go.

I was saying the same about battery technology.
The fire after last weeks crash has got many worried and sent Tesla shares into a spin.
Can highly powered compact batteries, quickly charged, be safe and reliable.
Are they stretching old technology too far.?

We shall see. Internal combustion engines are also a mature technology, not much left there.

Have a good easter, feeling better about CNA just now.

Thanks jpRegarding the dip before the close. I'd put that down to the long weekend and not forgetting that it's been a good week for them. There was a decent size closing auction and I think the buyers did well to nick them at that price. Let's just be grateful.....Good Easter to all.

Hi NorticSo what happened to us this week. A bit disappointing the last 10 minutes or with this dropping, but at least it finished positive. The FT also dropped a lot at the end and only finished + 11. This is only the third week this year when each day was positive. We finished. + 7.5p and the FT + 13515 Analysts reportBuy 5 Hold 7 Sell 3 So no changeThey give an average of 177.43pSo they think the share price should rise 19.85 %6 weeks today we go xdiv. So hopefully here there will be a surge of new investors getting our great dividendHave a great Easter whatever your doing. :o)
