The water utilities got clobbered more then gas and electricity because they were deemed more likely to be nationalised. I’m thinking Seven Trent , PNN as examples . Both solid companies with decent records

Right now I can see no reason to sell my holding in CNA. Dividend close to guaranteed for the next 2-3 years at.12p. If they sell the nuclear investment for £1.2b then we may be in for a special div. government will very likely go cold on the idea of nationalisation .

If I took my money out of stock market we’re would I invest it . Banks are offering .01% interest and inflation is running at 3% so in effect by standing still I’d be going backwards

At the end of the day people utilities have quite rightly (until recently!) been seen as defensives and an absolute necessity. Centrica supplies gas and electricity which we all need. The sell off in utilities has been brutal. Water companies are down 30% in the past couple of months alone. These are not flash in the pan companies or stocks that were trading on ridiculous multiples of 80-100x earnings that just seem to keep rising forever regardless of fundamentals. The yield got close to 10% here and the P/E was around 8 (!)

Centrica is still the largest UK utility and has large European and American operations. Spirit Energy remember also. It may lose some more customers in the short term but will not be going bust anytime soon.

Minimum share price here should be 190-200p.

Just to brag a little . Having bought at 1.43p average , I am now in the blue.

Also should let you all know. Scotland is absolutely beautiful. We came here for 4 days and have extended our stay twice. The area is stunningly beautiful. Ice caps on the mountains , nature trail, fresh air , deer , pheasants all around and not a portside anywhere

Yes agree with you both. We are all very upbeat here, with good reason. With the update it all looks very positive here. All of us have suffered of late and it's great to have a good buzz with this company again. Up 16p on the week, and without looking at the records it must be the biggest % rise here for a very long time. And for me the 8.4p dividend in June is a nice present. Have a great weekend all whatever your doing, I think we all certainly feel a lot more relaxed about this company now :o)

Totally agree with you. I thought his side kicks were very good as well.

Best part for me was when Mark Hodges answered the question about capping.

Thought Conn came across very well yesterday. Very aware of poor share price and underperformance - seemed to be very determined to turn things around. Knows it is his last chance also. Mentioned shareholders several times.

Six and one but people might start to look at this stock and realise what a they've had. This stock is a classic case of greed and fear.Fear makes you sell at the bottom and Greed is the fear that you might be missing out on a recovery.imho
