21/2/2018 17:23 | And they cause cancer and smog. If you can smell smoke, whether yours or anyone else's, you are increasing your risk of ill health through bronchitis, lung cancer and certain other lung diseases. Wood stoves are bad for you even if you burn good wood on a well maintined stove, but people burn all sorts because it is cheaper, and their stoves age and become less efficient. It will be yet another scandalous U-turn from ill-informed politicians that endanger our health, a few years after they decided diesel was bad instead of good. Public Health England have issued a level 2 warning about next week's cold, which they expect to raise to level 3. It could be extremely cold, with wind and snow added in. Models suggest 10-12C below normal in the middle of next week. The UK gas and electric grids might struggle as continental Europe might not be keen to top us up through interconnectors. They look like being even colder! | aleman

21/2/2018 16:38 | he company fell 41 percent last year, the worst performer in the 29-member Stoxx 600 Utilities Index. “People are overlooking the positive drivers,” said Roland Vetter, a portfolio manager and head of research at Praxis Partners LLP, a London-based fund investing in utilities. “If oil and gas prices stay where they are and they’re able to keep the dividend then the stock looks attractive.” Adjusted net income for 2017 is expected to drop 23 percent to 692 million pounds ($968 million), while adjusted earnings per share are forecast to slump 25 percent, according to analyst | portside1

21/2/2018 15:44 | Same here. Av 1.49, rising at the moment. Hope its not a bull trap. | cernunnus
21/2/2018 15:22 | Me too, was tempted to sell or reduce, but will hold and hope for a more positive update. Certainly there seems a reluctance to sell at these lower levels across the sector and for that reason I am hoping tomorrow presages a reversal of opinion. | andyj
21/2/2018 15:05 | Yes we all deserve something better here. | susiebe
21/2/2018 14:59 | Just not sure here. I'm averaged down to 1.66 btw. I wonder how bad the update would have to be to drive this even lower? I was going to sell this morning at a loss but I'll probably do what I always do and see what happens. Maybe in for a pleasant surprise? | barius

21/2/2018 11:58 | It's funny because if you are tech company you can be on a high mutable . Just look at what happened to Ocado from a retailer to what now is a tech company. Always the promise that one day they'll make a buck!! | nortic 007
21/2/2018 11:44 | If Just Eat, Fevertree, Boohoo, BTG and Abcam are all allowed to trade on P/E's of 80/EIGHTY! then I see no reason why a huge defensive company like Centrica which is a necessity is priced on a P/E below 10. Totally illogical and mad!!! | justiceforthemany
21/2/2018 10:19 | I'm afraid it's not an exact science. I used to tell that to my trainee dealers (blue buttons) because they thought that 3 always comes after 2 when it comes to the markets......every day and every situation no matter how similar can throw up different results.Ours lives and our wallets would be all the better if life was that easy. | nortic 007
21/2/2018 09:54 | In my experience and was the case last time with Centrica, late afternoon movements the day before results can prove telling. I recall in November there was a sudden increase in volume and a small, but notable slide. | andyj
21/2/2018 06:46 | MasteyStill banging in the profits......good man:) | nortic 007
21/2/2018 06:41 | Just regarding the dividend, there was an article on Alliance News saying be prepared for a reduction in the dividend after this next payout. That might be seen as a bit of a crowd pleaser as far as there critics are concerned. Customers numbers will be key and if there has been a slowdown in defections then all the better. We're are being prepared for bad figures and if that's the case then no surprises as far as the markets are concerned then I would expect a slow but gradual recovery. | nortic 007 |
