CNA and SSE are roughly unchanged and PNN,SVT,UU are down substantially-2.5% . Any one know the reason . The only ting I can think of is they are water investments in the main.

This is all becoming rather pleasantly dull. The desire to drive prices down seems to have moved to tobacco.

Let's agree, with CNA up 1% no one posts the words 'flying', 'here we go' or 'told you that was the bottom'.

The FT used to be the newspaper of choice for City traders but it seems many must be reading that awful Guardian nonsense nowadays.

I've learnt, never to get excited when they are up. If this market gives up a fraction of this mornings gain these will be flat. They always let you down in the end.

Can't recall the last time I saw CNA up 2.2% in a day. Looks exciting, except for those of us who bought in at 1.70, it is more like a 1.7% increase.

Shell seem to be investing in UK energy supply. According an article in The Times yesterday they are planning to buy gas-fired power plants and build wind & solar farms in the UK. It also bought energy provider First Utility in Dec last year. It appears they also want to get into the electric car charging business.

They don't seem too concerned about risks of nationalisation.
