WJ, North London here and weather is up and down like a Yo Yo but have had heating on quite a bit, but comparable with other Years, but not as much as we used when we had the Huge Snow dump in 2010 and 2011, but then the house was in early stages of renovation and walls and ceilings were like a huge sieve.

You could feel the Hot Air being pulled out through the Bay walls and a draught blasting up the stairs until I got them properly insulated, loft done properly and new Windows.

That helps a lot, it's just our kitchen that is our biggest cold spot. Useless floor and ceiling insulation. i.e. Non existent.

well i listened to 1 1/2 hrs of presentation for the second time last night
a few things that will improve for CNA

Morecambe Bay now back on stream and producing more

increase in oil price alone should underpin dividend

winter much colder, our log store has depleted 50% more than this time last year.
so i guess you guys using gas are hammering it...

the acquisitions they made which were profitable should be well bedded in and profits should be higher

more over head cuts.

happy to pay dividend with a cover of only one until turnaround program complete.

i am buying the stock back i sold for a 14p gain should bring the break even down to around 144p

WJ.

Morning jpjohn1 There's many things Mr Conn could do to improve the company's position but he'll have to be bold.

Morning Nortic - Looking good to start with, hopefully it will stay there. I try to get what information I can about us, but there does not seem much out there. ( I'm am also with Hargreaves Lansdown & Barclays Stockbrokers ) and try to put on if there is any news I here. Fingers crossed we have reached our lowest point and see this go northwards. Until really we see what's happening at AGM we will not know we're we stand. I can understand why some investors are hesitant until then. :)

The next phase of caps on energy bills have been announced, doesn't look like the end of the world for CNA after all.

Just received this email from MM in CNA. I hope it's of some use.Morning mate,CNA held up relatively well yesterday. Not sure what this does to them but at least they are looking at options. Have a good day sir ! Centrica interested in collaborating with more companies, including Japanese firms, for deals similar to one in which they will swap LNG cargoes with Tokyo Gas, Jonathan Westby, co-managing director for energy marketing and trading at U.K.-based co., says in interview Wednesday.NOTE: Tokyo Gas and Centrica agreed in 2016 to swap 350k-800k tons/year of LNG, with Centrica getting Tokyo Gas's U.S.-source supplies and Tokyo Gas getting Centrica's Asia-Pacific-sourced cargoesAgreement will go into effect once Dominion's Cove Point terminal in Maryland enters commercial operations, producing supplies for Tokyo Gas, Westby says on the sidelines of CWC Japan LNG & Gas Summit in TokyoCentrica traded ~100 LNG cargoes in past 3 years after very few trades previouslyCo. is building portfolio with mid- and long-term activity, as trading only spot cargoes carries a higher level of risk

I thought the FTSE would stay in the blue today but I fear it will be sold off throughout the session. Hope I'm wrong.

These passive ETF that track the market must reinforce the status quo.
If we all had tracking ETF's and no others, then relative share prices would in theory never change.

Explains the ridiculous over valuations of FANG stocks in the USA.
...and for minuscule companies such as CNA the share price is driven ever lower by algo trading.

Seen quite a lot about passive investing recently and therefore the automatic buying and selling that happens. I'd be pretty sure that algorithms don't do contrarian investing and (simplistically) base actions on the higher probability that a share price will just continue in the trend direction its on.

That might explain the exaggerated movements around.

The market does often anticipate problems, but I think that's usually when the share price drops earlier on from a stable area downwards. Then you get the bad stuff, then the share price carries on down as if the bad stuff is going to carry on forever.
