11/2/2018 14:58 | No company is going to operate for free. If it comes down to it Centrica will get rid of BG and concentrate on their other divisions around the world. They could even keep the service department and hive. There is a lot more to this company than UK gas and Electric. | gaffer73
11/2/2018 14:48 | it now depends on the signals that Conn puts out at the results / presentation if its perceived as negative well i need not say anymore. if he says dividend maintained and no reason to cut in the future i think peeps will continue to hold the stock. He came close to saying it last time but was holding back 5% which caused relentless questioning about the divi , its obviously very important to the annalists. WJ. | w1ndjammer
11/2/2018 14:47 | Soon be The AGM and this will give us all a better insight into the company. We have had a bad four weeks, going down 18.35p or 12.55%. All of must be down here, some many thousands. We are all looking for something positive here, but I suppose we will be kept in the dark till then. Sometimes I think the Bod don't care about us shareholders | jpjohn1
11/2/2018 14:18 | I just cannot see what can happen to reverse the downtrend. Can anyone else? I fear that the worst is yet to come. Once they go ex dividend, we could be staring over the abyss... | andyj
11/2/2018 13:41 | There are more ways then one to skin a cat. They may not need to nationalise. Read this article . It’s a little frightening. Telegraph Ofgem chief. Energy firms must realise data belongs to customers. Ofgem tomorrow to force a major big six supplier to release data on 50,000 customers who are on standard tariffs for more then three years to third parties Who will then auction he data | whatsup32
11/2/2018 13:33 | True Nortic, there are a lot on here who paid 2,3 and 4 pound, that's not what they want to here but I suppose the lower it gets the more of takeover talks will happen. We all would all love to see this back up to the 2 + mark has soon has possible. | jpjohn1
11/2/2018 13:29 | They would need to pay 10s of billions on it - annual interest payments would be massive. | biglosses
11/2/2018 13:28 | Labour and left leaning commentators resent shareholders being paid dividends. Anyone buying into utilities recently has lost a fortune in capital value. We shareholders own the company and expect a return, providing we run the company well. | careful
11/2/2018 13:27 | More than 50% profits generated from UK energy supplies (2016) so hope they're focussing more effort now on other parts of the business. | biglosses
11/2/2018 13:26 | They couldn't nationalise Centrica, at best they could nationalise the energy supply devision of BG. What about all the other suppliers EON, SSE and all the other small suppliers? Would they nationalise them too? Imo it's not possible and labour are using it to gain votes. | gaffer73
11/2/2018 13:16 | I saw the Mc.Donnell interview on the Marr show. He said that parliament would decide the price. a labour controlled parliament at that. Mumbled something about asset value. That really would be theft. Net worth is just £2.8bn. | careful
11/2/2018 13:05 | Unlikely I never like talking about things like that because it sounds like a cry for help. If you are someone who has them a lot higher £2 plus the last thing you want is a cheeky offer to get excepted.I think we should be this one to bed. | nortic 007
11/2/2018 12:58 | Heard this morning on the TV Labour would pay market rate for shares (in bonds) if nationalising. There would be parts of the company Labour wouldn't be interested in (US business, exploration), I would assume, so possibly only part of the company would be nationalised? | biglosses
11/2/2018 12:58 | With the share price going down like this what do you think the chances of a takeover ?? | jpjohn1
11/2/2018 12:50 | CNA might be down badly Nortic, but I will never change, I've always been happy go lucky and always looked on the positive sides of life. This might go on 1 year, 2 or 3. Just have to be patient. If there was a take over it could go up very quickly. | jpjohn1
11/2/2018 12:40 | I was at the rugby yesterday. In the pub 12 and forgot all my worries.Good result | nortic 007
11/2/2018 12:29 | I agree Nortic, something should have been said from the Bod a long time ago good or bad. Perhaps they didn't not want to say something in case the share price crashed quicker than its been here of late. I said in a earlier post now -60k adrift. Just trying to hang on in there hoping for if to go up. At least I have work to keep my mind off it. Keeping fingers crossed for good results for us at the AGM :o) | jpjohn1
11/2/2018 12:15 | I can see we are feeling down with them here. If you look at the entire Ft100 over the last year we have been hit by far the worse. -46.35%, the next Shire 32.24%. Other power companies are only half what we are SSE 22%, NG 21%. I think we all will be glad to see what the AGM brings us. There have been very little news released by the Bod. I think if they had said something sooner the share price would not have been quite so low. I have said before for new investors you can understand why they are a bit weary here until further reports come out. It does not help with Labour saying they want to nationalise this. Wish I could say something really positive here but I think we are all feeling down with them | jpjohn1
11/2/2018 12:13 | From the BBC article "Last week, Ofgem said the savings for people on the safeguard tariff would be reduced from April, but added that it was not designed to be the cheapest tariff on the market." | eeza
11/2/2018 12:09 | How is the market going to look at this. Is this the so called price cap now out . Will it provide more certainty but what could the cost be? Is it better than a unknown cap. | mastey
11/2/2018 11:40 | Hypocrites | nortic 007 |
