07/1/2018 20:28 | Some friends of mine that have some crispin odey funds have been hammered . They met with him and he is so persuasive he is right. I guess we will all be right at some point but I am starting to agree with him. It’s just about when to press the button for a correction which will be started by proffesional managers but then followed through by passive retail investors. The passive retail investor selling is critical to a sizable pullback as that is key | mastey
07/1/2018 20:20 | You did well the other day in CNA. Nice to see someone get it right.Good luck in the future. | nortic 007
07/1/2018 20:18 | I must say I feel the same about the markets. Mr Trump seems to be drivings markets higher. It's like people have forgotten about all the mistakes we have made in the past i.e banking crisis etc.....Groundhog Day | nortic 007
07/1/2018 20:11 | Good on you Nortic 007. I am no where near that yet. Pretty soon I am going to short the market as a whole using 2X etfs. That said centrica will do ok in relative terms. The constant Goldilocks statements from some quarters scares me senseless. Wage inflation is about to erupt and that will cause quite a pullback | mastey
07/1/2018 20:02 | And then he woke up, and fell out of bed. | eeza
07/1/2018 19:11 | And yes I am a multi millionaire:) | nortic 007
07/1/2018 19:10 | FTSE boards are different to decimal bits of cr@p. I've also got Sharescope which is more for portfolio reasons.I like listening to the boards because they can be very intuitive, you just have to sort out the genuine investors/ traders from the spivs. | nortic 007
07/1/2018 18:40 | Gentleman with some of the numbers being banded around you must all be multi millionaires. I can’t get my head round why when being so wealthy and market experts you are mucking about on boards like this. | mastey
07/1/2018 18:38 | I feel your pain J let's hope for better things to come :) | nortic 007
07/1/2018 18:09 | In a couple of years I think we will wish we all stocked up more of CNA at these prices | jpjohn1
07/1/2018 18:04 | Yes Nortic, if I would have kept Glencore I would have had £120k sitting in my bank now ouch !!! Talk about a mistake !! I wish I had my crystal ball sometimes :) | jpjohn1
07/1/2018 16:15 | I remember buying 75,000 AAL @250 ish and every man and his dog were bearish. I made 15k and thought I was the nuts. If only I kept them.D'oh!!!! | nortic 007
07/1/2018 13:59 | 22nd Feb 2018 next results | supermarky
07/1/2018 13:57 | I remember not so long ago when I was holding rdsb and aal when they were having the share price demolition squad have a go at them. Look at aal now. Look at shell from the depths of dispair 2 years ago. Hopefully cna can recover from these depressed levels. | supermarky
06/1/2018 20:07 | The weather in the US must be helping cna direct energy? | supermarky
06/1/2018 16:41 | I can here the 'baa-baa' noises in the analysts offices from Birmingham ! | yump
06/1/2018 09:31 | Feb update is crucial to recover the recent loses. Let's hope that CNA has a good control of its American assets and guidance on dividend. Until then it is good to see share price around 160p. | karateboy
06/1/2018 08:38 | CNA in most of the market reports this morning. | nortic 007
06/1/2018 08:36 | You'll notice that there are 4 buys 15 holds and 1 sell on CNA. I find analysts tend to act like sheep so I'm focusing on all those hold ratings. IF CNA were to break 150 which I believe are the price targets on those ratings then a possible revision upwards could start to filter through and that could shift sentiment in our favour.I still haven't got much time for analysts but as they say "every little bit helps".Good weekend | nortic 007
06/1/2018 07:24 | CS upgrade nice to outperform | nw99
06/1/2018 00:07 | British Gas-owner Centrica and United Utilities have been treated like political footballs in recent years with Labour proposing to “regain control of energy supply networks” should Jeremy Corbyn win the next election. The Tories have been equally hostile — promising to cap energy bills. But despite the political criticism, analysts at Credit Suisse have spotted an opportunity. Since the EU referendum Centrica’s share price has fallen 40%, whereas over the past 18 months the sector has dropped 25% as whole. Credit Suisse analyst Mark Freshney said: “Centrica and SSE have underperformed to the extent that the UK domestic energy supply businesses come almost free, in our view.” Freshney was also keen to play down the political risks, adding: “Should there be a Labour-led government then re-nationalisation would be difficult. The spread of the £147 billion of regulated assets across debt and equity investors would require compensation.” Credit Suisse now expects Centrica to outperform and shares rose 2.7p to 144.5p. SSE, which is merging its UK domestic business with NPower, was up 6.6p to 1306p. United Utilities was upgraded to neutral and shares climbed 11.2p to 811p | big7ime
06/1/2018 00:03 | As a result of its detailed analysis on price caps, the Swiss bank upgraded Centrica to ‘outperform | big7ime
05/1/2018 23:16 | Never thought when I bought CNA last year that I would be happy to see them at 1.46! | andyj
05/1/2018 17:14 | Stand back and watch the big program buying begin then... Just looking over all the high yield stocks I'm monitoring and it looks like most are blue, so is the mood turning to value instead of growth ? Plus if funds think the bond market bull run is really ended... That would make sense given some of the data coming out of the economy. | yump |
