Its called research DT, you find out information. Such as, what effect would be for 3 million house holds in london stuck on SVR's for their interest only mortgages because their LTV's don't cut the mustard anymore?

What do you think's going to happen when a 100bps increase to the BOE rate and their mortgage payments increase by 33%

What do you think's going to happen when all these rich europeans leave London and have to flog their crash pads in Fulham and Maida Vale?

What do you think will happen to the London rental market if AirBNB get legislated. What about the continued stock surplus as a result of the tax change regarding second homes?

Foxtons has done nothing but fall from 400p for the last five years, because everyone knows those above risks are real and have never gone away. Whilst you think it's a better Investment than Gold which is trading in contango, as a time the world is facing inflationary pressures.

You might make a lot of Money bottom picking but that's a far cry from spouting that it's a better investment than precious metals.

It's Indian festival time, buying gold is traditional but they invest and gift in other PM's as well. The buying activity of India alone is usually enough to support positive support to PM's throughout the month of October.

October is a historically reliable month to make money from Gold investments. I suspect DT's knowledge of India only stretches as far as his local Ruby though, so I can forgive him for formulating a possibly costly opinion.

How is Foxtons doing today, or for the last 5 years?

Cinque ... we see it in Birmingham ... lot of foreign and income investment going on because London is too expensive . It’s all speculation . Nice POG rise .. anyone got an opinion on why ?

I hope you weren't short Terry. For every seller there's a buyer and vice versa. Broker reports say the miss on the third quarter wasn't as bad as feared, Trump and the US wrangles with China pushing gold up again, and Centamin with it.

Gap at 123ish . Will it get filled in the next few days .. I am long at 112 and chart looks good to me now . Would be nice to close the much higher gap too . We came close a while back

DT1010 loves Foxtons ... must be in heavy as trying to ramp the life out of it .. personally as they are predominantly London property based I think it is highly speculative ....

London house prices face 95% chance of big correction

Property in London is more unaffordable for local buyers than any city except Hong Kong – and is facing the greatest likelihood of a major price correction in the coming years.

A report from analysts at UBS looked at 15 major cities worldwide and ranked London number one on a 'bubble' index with a score close to 1.9, says The Guardian. It added that between 1985 and 2009, whenever the index exceeded a score of 1 "a real price correction of on average 30 per cent began within three years 95 per cent of the time".
