If this is another leg down, hopefully its a quick one of one or two weeks. $1200-$1215 has lots of support as a floor and keeps many technical patterns in play. $1280 is the next resistance, followed by $1260. Below that nothing really until $1200-$1215.

Will be interesting to see how the Chinese view this buying opportunity. We'll know around 2:00AM GMT.

Market was taken down to sub $1300 into the close. Its the closing value that technicians will be looking at. Excuse being given is that John Taylor is now favourite for Fed chair.

flop, apply that and it looks +ve unless $1300 breaks down.

Two day rule: need to hold a particular resistance or support level for two or more days to be valid. Technical rule of thumb. Gold futures market closes at 1:30PM EST.

Failure to hold $1300 for 2 days! Could be in for some rough weather ahead!

Seems that none of the miners are buying the rise in PMs. Not sure why.

So wrt dividends they paid $29m out as interim and they expect to have minimum $45m with possible $105m for the final. That equates to 1.5 - 3.5 times the interim of 2.5 cents. Last years dividend distribution was $179m so it will be less this year but still a good dividend and the whole operation looks in very good shape going forward.

O/T

Some were complaining about Barclays new Smart Investor platform...this report is from todays Daily Telegraph:

"Hargreaves Lansdown said it had benefited from disgruntled customers moving from another platform - Barclays. Hargreaves revealed 30,000 new customers had moved to the platform, taking £1.5bn of investment money in the last three months."

All I can think is that I am pleased. It is about time firms lost customers when they don't plan or provide services properly. It is time companies put their customers first for once.

Been watching that for some time Skinny . A charge through 155p and we are off . Worry is we are back into over bought territory - though still some room to go higher
