27/1/2024 19:36 | Sloppy is not the word, disgraceful performance and Brendan needs to lift things for 3 tricky away games | mickinvest
27/1/2024 17:35 | 'Alistair Johnston's first-minute goal wins it for Celtic, but Brendan Rodgers will be far from pleased with that performance. They dominated possession, but there was precious little cutting edge from the Premiership leaders. Luis Palma twice missed from the spot, yes, but County will feel they could, and maybe should, have pinched a point from this game.' very sloppy | wrtmf
25/1/2024 20:44 | ...and atletico came a calling... | wrtmf
22/1/2024 09:52 | Cup win yesterday included a goal from two 'project' pleurs, Bernardo and Holm. A goal from a pleur that was a downgrade on the pleur he replaced (Palma/Jota) and an assist from a pleur that's not good enough to play for Celtic, Mikey Johnston. My point being that when the manager gets the most out of the pleurs that the business model and recruit team have brought to the club, they clearly comprise many match-winners. The recruitment team are excellent and the board are pursuing the right model for the plc AND the team. Asagi (long CCP) | asagi
13/1/2024 17:24 | 5 Celtic players off to Asian cup | wrtmf
05/1/2024 10:35 | blimey, some reactionary stuff there, typical of match attendees. Celtic are top, performing less well in the league than they did last year but delivered a superior Champions League points haul. Sure, Hart needs replacing. No argument. But running a football club properly requires compromising to preserve the financial position. It's not a sweetshop. The experience of the last three years is that the Celtic model WORKS and these guys want to rip it up. Surely Nawrocki, Furuhashi, Hatate, Palma, Juranovic, Giakoumakis count as experienced pleurs? Shareholders like me shudder at the idea of this line of thought taking hold. Asagi (long CCP) | asagi
04/1/2024 22:51 | Lee: Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United is a shout. Michael: Scott McKenna on a free. Gordy: The three biggest areas we need to improve are goalkeeper, left-back and a physical centre forward to support and play alongside Kyogo Furuhashi. The midfield also needs a boost, no offence to the guys currently in those positions but physically we need to improve. Shaun: I have no confidence in the board or Brendan Rodgers signing good experienced players after hearing they are signing someone from the South Korea league, that is another player off to the Asia Cup if we do sign him. John: I’d like to see a couple of players who can roll up their sleeves, mix it up and do the dirty side of football. -- | wrtmf
03/1/2024 21:08 | celtic played 10-man st mirren for 45mins and managed 1 goal they got to push on with the gd 2nd game oppo down to 10 | wrtmf
03/1/2024 10:54 | Rangers add two to their goal difference, Celtic add three. Two assists last night from Paulo Bernardo, a pleur dismissed by some Celtic fans as a 'project player' etc. only recently! Hail to the board and the recruitment team. I can see another profit for shareholders coming down the line. It's amazing what results Celtic can get domestically when pleurs are performing nearer their ability. Asagi (long CCP) | asagi
03/1/2024 00:16 | as you were, kilmarnock unable to stifle rangers, not even a draw | wrtmf
31/12/2023 08:51 | kyogo goal - top draw, all the rest looked dire, maybe highlights gave false impression | wrtmf
31/12/2023 08:00 | 3 points was all that mattered yesterday. Hatate and Abada back and hopefully carter-Vicjers in few weeks along with a couple of signings should see us push on. Bringing on Turnbull, Oh, Mikey Johnston and Abada's first minutes in month weakened the team at the end of the game. | mickinvest
30/12/2023 21:49 | highlights - celtic looked poor when rangers down to 10 | wrtmf
29/12/2023 18:02 | that's a swap this shareholder would take. Celtic get compensated for Rodgers, bringing in millions and then Celtic appoints Eddie Howe. Although I'm not convinced that Howe is any better of a manager???? Asagi (long CCP) | asagi
28/12/2023 22:46 | 'Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is listed as one of the bookmakers favourites to replace Eddie Howe as Newcastle United manager (Scottish Sun)' | wrtmf
27/12/2023 11:10 | I see we have an area commander of the Green Brigade among us ;-) no apology needed Mick, it's football and I'm happy to disagree. Of course, I'm not even a fan and don't watch the games so can claim no expertise. I'm just saying that there is a case to be made. None of the assists or goals scored yesterday were from an Ange Postecoglou eleven. Apparently Jota has been frozen out in Saudi Arabia: maybe he would like to stay and take the pay but I've seen no reports of a European club looking to pay the sort of money that Celtic got for him. 26/12/2023 21:35 | Sorry Agagi, its Dundee, we need to be taking on the 2nd tier of Europe and Johnston, Taylor and.few.others aren't good enough. | mickinvest
21/12/2023 15:35 | today's announcement strengthens the hand of all Europe's premier clubs in future negotiations with UEFA. Aren't Celtic ranked something like 54th??? Asagi (long CCP) | asagi
21/12/2023 12:32 | "People should not view this as if there is going to be a European Super League like was previously suggested, because the court says nothing about this at all. They have decided that the rules which were made to protect Fifa and Uefa's monopoly were unlawful." I don't see how the first statement can be derived from what follows. If the monopoly cannot legally be protected, then the monopoly is vulnerable. Asagi (long CCP) | asagi
21/12/2023 11:02 | "Uefa and Fifa rules banning clubs joining breakaway competitions like the European Super League are unlawful, the European Court of Justice has ruled." dunno what this actually means in practice. Asagi (long CCP) | asagi
20/12/2023 12:15 | I back the board here. If Rodgers is not getting the best out of the players that he has already got, why give him money to bring in more 'quality' if they don't end up playing like it? The bloke has been moaning from day one while performances have been in decline. Nevertheless, Abada, Maeda and Hatate coming back could mask that. I hope that the board are researching replacements.
