rangers' title to lose and take a huge jump financially in new format CL
yes and with a superior manager they could really drive home the advantage and widen the gap.
Which is what Celtic should have done this season and next but for the inadequate Brendan Rodgers.

3-3 |
£123m profit reported by Brighton last year! |
it will just paper over the cracks.
Brendan Rodgers is an inadequate manager who inherited a strong squad and has not advanced the squad one jot through coaching or acquisition.
But could Celtic realistically recruit a superior? I say YES, using the cash balance to invest in a better manager who will repay the club through transfer fees and stronger campaigns in Europe. Rangers have managed to bring in better.

if celtic win league and fa cup, it will just paper over the cracks? many of the east asian lads will depart in the summer? |
no problem wrtmf just arguing out the 'football' of it.
Brilliant stuff 'The Battle to Save Celtic' with David Low on youtube.

outrageous, given the league differences over the last 14 or so years between the 2 and considering celtic player sales
'Rangers can overtake Celtic financially if they win the Scottish Premiership this season to qualify for the new Champions League format in 2024-25, with the money earned being enough to close the £36m gap between the Old Firm rivals' |
asagi i just put up the article title, i didn't set out a case that an injustice was being done to scottish clubs. of course, celtic guilty. |
wrtmf has mentioned a BBC article that states: "Scotland will lose its automatic Champions League place in season 2025-26 if Viktoria Plzen secure at least a draw in either leg of their Conference League last-eight tie with Fiorentina".
I'd counter that it is Celtic's failure to grind out anything other than a defeat in the Champions League that has cost Scotland.

rangers on for the treble celtic - from champions league to chumps? |
team news
'Celtic have lost Yang Hyun-jun to suspension following his failed appeal against his red card against Hearts. The holders remain without midfielders Callum McGregor (Achilles/calf) and Reo Hatate (calf) along with defender Maik Nawrocki (hamstring). Liel Abada has left the club and Alexandro Bernabei has moved on loan' |
McGregor's absence leaves a big hole in the midfield.
£8M for Abada is a good bit of business. |
lol red card lol 2-0 lol palma no game time/ yang pick backfired lol |
how many penalties have been missed this season? |
for all the chances and shots not on target, someone was eventually going to cop it [dundee] |
mid price goes to 127.5p and of course rather than narrowing to 125p:130p the spread has gone 120p:135p with the offer being upped 5p.
Fan media berates the club for the last two transfer windows.
Yesterday we had a player signed in the January window score two goals. Another goal scored by a player signed in the summer and an assist from a third player brought to the club in the summer.
The decline is 100% on Rodgers.

rangers 5-0 this could turn nasty like the '10iar' season celtic need to win all their remaining games rangers need to just draw the old firms, win the rest |
"Revenue increased by 11% to £85.2m (2022: £76.5m). · Profit from trading was £32.0m (2022: £28.1m). · Profit from transfer of player registrations (shown as profit on disposal of intangible assets) £2.6m (2022: £1.8m). · Profit before taxation of £30.3m (2022: £33.9m). · Acquisition of player registrations of £12.9m (2022: £5.7m). · Period end cash net of bank borrowings of £67.3m (2022: £59.2m)."
looks like fantastic results on first glance.

I see that world football powerhouse Crystal Palace managed to get a manager of 'quality' in short order. Didn't spend months waiting around for Eddie Howe!

@Kayman208 11 hours ago We will fall at least 9 points behind by the end of the season if Rodger’s dsnt swallow his pride and go back to Anges system. The board should sack him and let Kennedy take it
@jimmcleod557 11 hours ago Rogers took the best striker in Scotland and turned him into a second rate midfielder the squad are ponderous going forward we dread the opposition getting a corner how many goals have we lost by a player at the back post games are won in midfield our midfield pass it back to the defence this is pathetic it not the players it’s the managers system hail hail |
