so far, it's looking sticky... r0-1k, 39mins gone
'This is one of the craziest opening spells to a Scottish football match I can remember. VAR checks every few minutes; an own goal by James Tavernier at one end; the Rangers captain then missing a penalty at the other, with Killlie down to 10 men for the Joe Wright handball (awarded by VAR) that led to the spot-kick award. Phew. Can't take your eyes off this for a second'

'Rangers have now only won two of their latest eight games.'
'For the second game in a row, a stranger to Scottish football would have had difficulty picking out this Rangers team as the title contenders.' |
'Liel Abada says his first goal in the MLS was a sweet moment after a "very, very difficult time in Scotland" as the former Celtic winger was named man of the match in Charlotte's 3-2 win against Toronto. (Scottish Sun)'

dundee-rangers the last game before the split fa cup weekend follows |
the pendulum swinging back a little bit...
so far... ross 3-1 rangers IF rangers lose, the view from the other side should be interesting
the -2 gd would be like an xtra point for celtic in such a tight race

3-2
'There's a handball check. It hits Brandon Khela, who's only just on. The slow-mo reveals... it does hit the hand of Khela. It's unfortunate, the ball sails in from a cross, skims off the head of Eli King and hits Khela quite accidentally, but these tend to get given.' |
2-0 up at half time away from home to your title rivals and you don't close out the win???
Absolutely pathetic. Rodgers' career is littered with this stuff. When did one of his teams ever do it to someone else in a game that mattered???
"Criminal" defending allowed Palace to come back from 3-0 down with just 11 minutes remaining thanks to Damien Delaney's goal and two from Dwight Gayle.
Although a point took Liverpool back to the top of the table with one match to play, City have a game in hand."

agree about Yang - a red card and a non-tackle (for rangers'third) is callum's time coming to an end?
the view from the other side - |
That's my thinking as well. It was a very good result yesterday but disappointing the way it was achieved. The bookies have them as 4/7 title favourites though. We are 5/4. These odds just look too good with the last OF at our patch. |
I would say it's Celtic's to lose, 6 games, 4 at home and 2 away whilst Rangers have 2 at home and 5 away.
Can see Celtic winning their 6 games if they keep squad fit and keep Yang off the pitch. |
rangers' title to lose and take a huge jump financially in new format CL
yes and with a superior manager they could really drive home the advantage and widen the gap.
Which is what Celtic should have done this season and next but for the inadequate Brendan Rodgers.

£123m profit reported by Brighton last year! |
it will just paper over the cracks.
Brendan Rodgers is an inadequate manager who inherited a strong squad and has not advanced the squad one jot through coaching or acquisition.
But could Celtic realistically recruit a superior? I say YES, using the cash balance to invest in a better manager who will repay the club through transfer fees and stronger campaigns in Europe. Rangers have managed to bring in better.

if celtic win league and fa cup, it will just paper over the cracks? many of the east asian lads will depart in the summer? |
no problem wrtmf just arguing out the 'football' of it.
Brilliant stuff 'The Battle to Save Celtic' with David Low on youtube.

outrageous, given the league differences over the last 14 or so years between the 2 and considering celtic player sales
'Rangers can overtake Celtic financially if they win the Scottish Premiership this season to qualify for the new Champions League format in 2024-25, with the money earned being enough to close the £36m gap between the Old Firm rivals' |
asagi i just put up the article title, i didn't set out a case that an injustice was being done to scottish clubs. of course, celtic guilty. |
wrtmf has mentioned a BBC article that states: "Scotland will lose its automatic Champions League place in season 2025-26 if Viktoria Plzen secure at least a draw in either leg of their Conference League last-eight tie with Fiorentina".
I'd counter that it is Celtic's failure to grind out anything other than a defeat in the Champions League that has cost Scotland.
