"Now group buying has moved to TV. Cellcast Interactive has introduced a tele-shopping show called 'Bargain TV', which is aired between 6 pm and 7 pm, on Imagine Showbiz. The format is simple - a new product is put up for sale and the price of the product keeps falling as more and more people buy it. In other words, the discount on the product increases as the number of buyers increase.

"The lowest price is offered to all buyers, irrespective of the price at which they booked it. Buyers can get discounts of up to 75 per cent on various products," says Pankaj Thakar, CEO, Cellcast Interactive. The products sold on Bargain TV are directly sourced from their respective manufacturers and buyers get multiple payment options.

The number of buyers in this industry would have been far lesser had the discounts been only in the range of 20-30 per cent. "Since our launch in February, we have helped consumers save up to Rs 2 crore. If one single company lets you do that, think of the many deals going on at the same time and the amount a person can save," claims Kunal Behl, CEO of Jasper Infotech, which owns sites like Grabbon and Snapdeal. Was a bit of a whirlwind this morning with 1.5% of the company traded.

Would be interesting to know what it was all about. Maybe like MPM says, to do with the ofcom news?

Noticed what may be quite a few improvements on the websites and the way things are working on the TV, so hopefully there will be good news on current trading with regard to efficiencies in the UK business. I wonder if this is the roll-out of 'nucleus', whatever that is?

"In 2010, the group will introduce Nucleus across all its operations and expects
to offer it as a service to other companies in the sector. The deployment of the
first stage of this platform is already increasing customer retention and
significantly increasing average revenue per user by boosting cross-selling
opportunities"

Well can't find them anywhere but some chunky trades gone through.

Edit, I'd say somebody just snaffled 1% of the company in that raft of trades

I just took a look - last year's results were on the last Monday of the month (28th Sept), rather than the last day of the month (30th)

Doesn't really matter, but it would be good to get results on Monday...

TG : did u speak to some1 at CLTV regarding the date? Last year it was very last day of the month also there wasn't much to announce but lets hope its little different this year.

Probably Monday 27th for results. We have been in this consolidation zone for 8 months now. This time last year we were at 1.5p. We shouldn't forget that.

Potential 10 bagger from here.

This really is a crucial set of results, because we have absolutely no idea how the seasonally weaker first half of the year will compare in terms of revenues and profits to the seasonally strong H2 of last year.

They have stated they still expect H1 trading to be 'strong', but I have really no idea what 'strong' means. Given that H1 last year produced a loss at CAH of £40k, 'strong' could mean a small profit, a 500k profit, a £1m profit or even £1.5m profit. There is just no way of knowing, imo

I'm not wanting to raise my expectations too much, but my hope is that H1 results at CAH can match H2 of last year, by making a profit of £1.2m. Maybe that is too much to ask? I don't know...

If we did manage that, I would then be looking for the profit at CAH to be around £3m for the year - £1.1m of that would be attributable to CLTV and on a PE of around 14x would value our share at 20p each. [a 14x PE would actually be very low for an Indian high-growth company)

Looking forward to next year, I would be looking for that £3m profit to become £4m, or even £5m and the worth to CLTV being 27-34p per share.

What the UK business is worth, I do not know - if it makes a profit, then maybe £5m? £10m? - i.e. another 6-14p per share on top of the CAH stake

So, yes I agree with others here - at some stage we could also see the shares jumping and re-rating, especially if CAH start to look for an exit...

My guess for a results date is the final week of September - they always seem to leave it until the last minute these days...

Long term, I'm hoping that CAH will become a $200m company and that CLTV still own a decent stake when it has become that big.

That could mean 60p+ per share for us

Given the market size and the fact that CAH dominate it, along with the opportunities presented by their new shopping channels, integration with online shopping etc., a $200m market cap for CAH in a few years time is not completely out of the question, imo

I've got two hopes for the results:

1) That CAH is continuing to grow, despite the fact they are going to be reporting their weak half (due to the cricket).

2) That the UK business has been running at break-even, so they do not need to dip into extra debt financing or feel the need to sell a few percent in CAH
