Does this mean it's curtains for CSH if they make the suspension a little more permanent?

Perhaps the Kazakh's are bored with MM and his conman-esq antics.

Zhengeldy - Temp. Suspension

20 February 2008

Caspian Holdings Plc
("Caspian" or "the Company")

Zhengeldy Field Temporary Suspension

Caspian Holdings Plc (AIM: CSH), the oil and gas production and exploration
Company in Kazakhstan announces a temporary suspension of production at its
Zhengeldy oil field.

The Company is currently awaiting approval of its Supervision of Development
Plan ("SDP") from the Central Commission of Ministry of Energy and Mineral
Resources of Kazakhstan ("MEMR"). The SDP, which has previously been approved by
the Atyrau Regional Inspector and received the necessary positive opinion from
the independent expert, has been tabled at the February meeting of the Central
Commission of MEMR and the Company awaits the protocol from this meeting.

Following SDP approval, the Company will then be in a position to have its 2008
Work Programme approved and to apply for an export quota in the successive
month. The 2008 Work Programme has been approved at the regional level and is
awaiting the approval from Zapkaznedra, the regional supervisor, which is
dependent on the approval of the SDP.

The Company is closely monitoring the above process and will update the market
in due course.

Sounds about right GC. He wouldn't tput his OWN cash into a basket case like CSH.

His buys are more about saving face, imo.

I wonder how much came from his own pocket eh GC. Not a lot, imo.

Least the small rise represents a chance for the few holders that remain to get a few more £££' back.

Not sure managing is the correct word but still in charge and holding a big wad of shares.
A lot of which is courtesy of the CSH share holders by way of a financing loan.

yes, no, yes.

A yes to the final question clarifies the answer to the previous two. :-)

Shareholders were not informed of the reason for the withdrawal of the export licence.

Shareholders have not been told of the Government requirements to justify the reissue of a licence.

Why not?

Is it because CSH know that they cannot reach the production levels required?

"Planning is underway and options are being evaluated to expand production rates through both selected workovers and new drilling"

How many wells? What anticipated production per well? Domestic or export sales? What is the payback period? How is this to be funded?

ecoejh,

No. CSH unlikely to apply for the extension unless they get a licence to export.

If they're making an operating profit selling oil at 20$ a barrel what would they make at $90 a barrel!!I would suspect that they are also holding back on production until the export licence is renewed. Capitalised at £5mill. - I reckon it's a snip to double at least. The risk/reward is 2p on the downside but 20p on the upside! Again I say the two new Russian board members will have a major impact on Caspians fortunes going forward.

I am happy with this news, it is about time we had some positive news, once the exports begin again we might see this moving upwards. Good luck to all

Hopefully, CSH can now get onto an even keel, with no further need for cash calls.
