When the deal is agreed between CBM and CLN directors, should it be be approved by 75% shareholders other than CBM?

Have just done a switch CBM to CLN at ration about 4:1.

Surely final terms will be better than this!

I just had a response from Alwyn Davey who responded within minutes. I asked about whether we would get the operational update any why discussions were dragging on bearing in mind that there were 2 CBMers on CLNs board. Here is the reply:

'The 2 CBM members of the CLN board are not involved in either side of the discussions and it is the independent director and CLN advisor who are discussing things with CBM. I have passed on the operations update request.
I can do no more than that as it is the Independent and CLN advisor who need to take it further.'

chrisgb, post 2388, 1 for 5? I hope not mate!! That implies a price of only 37p. It means we are at a premium of 20%!! Even CBM wont be that tight!!

Good to see the share price continuing upwards. CBM doing well again also, the trend of us tracking them up should hopefully continue.

CBM price currently 185p.
3:1 gives CLN price of 61p

Patience... a re-rating is coming our way imo

Hi All

This post from Phil on the WTN BB.

The bit about coal contracts talks about chinese companies doing deals for met coal at $350/t and offering 3 and 4 year contracts! So the pull back in coal prices may be a lot less than some analysts are going for.

"phil0001 - 7 May'08 - 08:56 - 2307 of 2307

Intraday high of C$6:02 yesterday. Powerful buying.

There's some interesting comment in this interview yesterday, about coal contracts in Canada, it's about 4mins 40 seconds in. BNN TV, business TV in Canada.

Extremely bullish, almost staggeringly so.

its just the uncertainty, it is not irrational if they only offer you 1 for 5...

Why is this lagging CBM's percentage rise? Markets can be very irrational.

So not only will CBM try to get CLN on the cheap but they will bag a further 23% stake in Energybuild. Surely CLN? fair value for CLN is around £1 per share

As oil prices rise, coal also makes gains

Small capsRobert Lindsay

"Ah," said he in search of energy, "the price of oil is rising, so I shall go in search of coal. That's cheap." Unfortunately, coal was never going to remain cheap in a seller's market; bad news for many, good news for Energybuild Group. Yesterday shares in the owner of two deep mines in South Wales rose ¼p to 27p after it said that average selling prices in the six months to this June were expected to be 53 per cent higher than market expectations. It also said that production this year would be bigger than expected.

Now all things coal get a little complicated. Cambrian Mining, Energybuild's largest shareholder, with 27.5 per cent, rose 22½p to 170½p. It is also benefiting from its holding in Western Canadian Coal (WCC), which soared 51½p to 268½p. It is thought that WCC will become a bid target for a big coalminer or steel producer as Morgan Stanley conducts a strategic review. ArcelorMittal, the steel giant, recently took a big stake in Coal of Africa, up 15p to 166½p, and agreed to buy much of its coal for its steel furnaces. Cambrian, meanwhile, is bidding for Coal International, up 3½p to 43p, which in turn holds 23 per cent of Energybuild.

Well WTN closed at 4.85 on TSE. WTN should open around 2.90 on AIM tomorrow. CBM up another 15p tomorrow morning? What about CLN? Up 5p in the morning? If it is 5 for 2 sportingbilly then that values CLN at 68p. If thats the case then current CLN share price is trading at a 58% discount. If CBM goes to £2 that values CLN at 80p!! I hope you are right billy.
