Hi guys. I admit that I am naive(started only 3 months ago) and have lost a bit of my money here. I am looking for advice to invest to recover my losses. Would highly appreciate.

Let's just say I'm feeling a bit more eager to lock in some paper profits than I was a few months ago. Thanks for the reply!

psync, I think you need to wait until it is published by HMRC as worth nothing. It may fall into next year:

It is unreasonable to expect all employees, pensioners and so on, to:

(a) Know what is truly happening; and then
(b) be able to do something about it.

All those on here who think they are smart are generally not. Pratting around with spread-betting and using OPM to assist their unviable lifestyles.

I know there will be a few notable exceptions (apologies to you), but as for the rest, what goes around comes around. I have been in this business almost 30 years and it never changes. Nobody learns.

lol, Andy. don't blame me for trying my hardest to talk PI's out of this investment for 6 months. I don't remember you posting anything?

If you want to blame anyone blame the last CEO who left with 12 months £660K salary last autumn

Wally, aren't you a clever chap then! I bet any Carillion employees, pensioners and sub contractors are absolutely thrilled by your perspicacity and all round brilliance. Thanks for letting all of us know. And a big well done.

Unfortunately, I can't see the shares being traded again - the company has said that it is going into liquidation. The remaining order book will be picked-up by the public sector/in-house and the rest cherry-picked by other contractors. Shareholders will get nothing and some sub contractors will be left high and dry. Huge disruption as this works through. Pensions will be protected and staff, in the short-term at least.

@ Showtyme - That's just the generalised wording that's used for these announcements. Whether or not a share comes back from suspension depends entirely on the reason it was suspended to begin with.

In the case of Carillion, temporarily means permanently.

GKP - CLLN changed the clawback rules for the CEO and CFO bonuses to make it more difficult. However I would be absolutely amazed if some part of the accounts does not need restating, so I hope he hasn't spent it otherwise he might be living on the street.

wallywoo - By my observation that was the case for a a long time, but astonishingly the short potential opened up again last week. I can only assume there were so many long bets that they were happy to take offsetting positions. I had a small short with City Index since the autumn but was able to up my total exposure 8 fold across IG and CI on Friday!

When a company goes bust IMVHO all employees should get the whip.
