Win some, lose some - that's how it goes. Luckily, my holding here is miniscule. A well-timed buy at the bounce may see me in profit.

Brexit uncertainty unsettled the GB Pound and affected most importers, just look at Primark owned by A B Foods

Disappointing in my view, particularly with respect to forward guidance and removal of the special divi next financial year.
I note that they carefully avoided giving a LFL number for the Christmas trading period.
I am tired of companies, particularly ones selling items costing less than £5, blaming political uncertainty for under performance.

you quote an Inv Chron article dated April 2019 and a "forecast" from Peel Hunt (just one Brokers opinion) and even that is subject to review anyway

Very downmarket company this, better if they called themselves ‘The Party Venue’, all it seems to consist of is balloons, party pops, and trash!

Any dip in the share price this morning is a potential buying opportunity. Shares trading at a 5 year low, dividend yield 6%+ (excluding any special dividends), low P/E ratio and highly cash generative underlying business.

Poor results and outlook for next year shows continued decline profits...cut to special I excepted though

How much of this is priced in is now the question...

Profit warning for this year as EBITDA being downgraded and lowered guidance for next year. They talk about a strategy refresh and medium term growth opportunities but need more info. Dividend level also uncertain as this will be dependent on the cash flow of the company and the additional investment required. A pretty downbeat TU IMO.I also take issue with Election uncertainty with regards to the business. They are not DFS or SCS selling big ticket items. People would still have bought their Xmas cards.

Read that wrong about the Special dividend, looks like they are paying it this year, 2021 will be adjusted.
So 9.6% total for 2020 possible at current prices.

Agree figures are ok, although minus 0.6% LFL sales. Worrying is the future years outlook at a reduction of 5-10m to ebitda next year.

Also announced review of strategy, including additional funding requirements - which I read as internal (but not clear). Special had to be cut due to recent increase in debt and the review of strategy.

Hardly expecting fireworks with xmas trading and footfall down at a time they are aggressively expanding high street outlets. Unless investors think the ever falling highstreet foot fall numbers will level out this year than there really is only one way the share prices can go. Down!

Very average results, outlook suggests pressure going forward, markdown at open likely.

Trading results are good, the headwinds this year have been numerous, and yet profits remain strong, the cut of the special dividend this year is wise, they should have done that last year, still 6% at current prices is a great place to put your cash, my ISA is paying 0.5% think we should see a nice bounce today, definitely oversold leading to today’s update
