Because the decline from 142 has developed its own momentum which has continued despite the positive Edison report last week. It seems to me that there is unlikely to be any positive news flow in the next couple of weeks to reverse that selling momentum, so the risks seem weighted towards the downside as people continue to fret over whether expectations will be met - of course, I could be entirely wrong!

And revenue wise, they now go into the busy period in the same way that ASOS and others make most of their cash in the next quarter - Halloween, Xmas, new year etc. along with a slight reading in shipping up until the last few weeks to get all that stock to the UK. In hindsight I'd agree this was getting ahead of itself at £1.40. at 95p again and a starter dividend in the bag, not so much. But hey, as you say it's a bb for free discussion. I just feel that the ned purchase is pretty much irrelevant either way.

I'm quite sure I wasn't painting any picture from it.

Think you miss the point. Some were suggesting her purchase was a positive, a sign of confidence, I don't see it tbh and am trying to say why I think that.Believe that's the purpose of these boards isn't it.Anyway, be useful if you could post up how they will generate earnings in H2 which will need to be nearly four times that of H1 to hit forecast of 14.5p eps.....because they've not achieved that sort of H2 to H1 weighting previously. Particularly given that H1 eps was down 38% compared to last year. That IMO is what the market is also struggling with given the share price action post the interims.

Who really cares?Maybe she wants a new car, or has debts to pay, or doesn't want to invest in shares, or, or,........So many reasons, I don't know why people are making such a big deal over it?

Thanks but not aware she has any family ties and definitely doesn't have a large shareholding. Yes I get that it may restrict how much she does hold but to just match her predecessors holding she could buy another 18k of shares (at her buy price that would equate to £23.5k). Compared to the NED with the highest holding, she could buy another 27.5k of shares (again at her buy price that would have equated to a purchase of c £33.5k).So her purchase is significantly below other iNED's current holdings, or her predecessors, and what is the actual volume allowed to maintain independence?.

Provision 10 in UK corp governance code guidelines outline the conditions that might impair the independence of a non-executive director. Basically says independence could be compromised if a director represents a significant shareholder (or family ties etc.)

£4.5k is nothing. From just her two NED positions alone she's picking up over £80k, it's peanuts.

Yes sorry my mistake, bonus only applicable to CEO and CFO.You mentioned conflict of interest - what conflict? Thanks

She's an iNED. Definitely won't be linked to bonus. She wouldn't be able to buy in size due to conflicts of interest. Be good if Exec team or NEDs were buying.

bounty"Whether male or female makes no difference"Really! pmsl. I'm sure she would have something to say about that remark. Did you actually read the RNS?. And you are a holder?.I asked the question as to whether the purchase was to meet the bonus requirements, didn't say it was, didn't say it wasn't, but either way it's not exactly a massive signal of confidence.

Bought card this morning.
I feel it is a bit oversold.
Nice dividend yield so hoping buyers come in towards the end of the year.
Wide stop on this one for me.

I am sure you are right (that it is not a contractual obligation in the way the recent CFO and CEO purchases were). But I do think with non-execs that there is a strong expectation that they will buy shares in companies on whose boards they sit. A purchase of less than £5000 in value (a tiny sum of money really to most affluent non-execs) after a 30% fall in share price (and when the company is saying that targets will be met) does not scream confidence to me

Whether male or female makes no difference and of course there is no obligation or that would have to be stated. Stop making assertions with no evidence.

He is actually a she!£4.5k when her remuneration here must be circa £60k doesn't IMO shout she thinks it's a bargain, particularly as not long after she joined the board the share price was in the 90's.Was it obligatory to meet her bonus requirements? or a starter position and will buy more if it keeps falling?. Either way her purchase hasn't encouraged me to hit the buy button.Would be nice to see the CFO / CEO back the lorry up to inspire confidence that they will actually hit forecasts for the year given what they will have to achieve in H2.
